grabs at you, hungrily

The smell is overwhelming, and I feel bile raising in my throat. I quickly jump to the left avoiding the zombie's reaching arms and run for my life.

I can hear him shuffling clumsily in my direction, he is moving at an amazing pace, I know I can't outrun him,so I look around in a panic trying to find a place to hide.

Moving as quietly as possible I run in a zig-zag pattern, hoping to confuse him. I see a small cave like entrance near a large tree and dive inside, cursing my friends for daring to make me do this. If I get out of here alive, I will make them pay.

All is quiet in the woods, is it possible I have outwitted the zombie? How smart can a zombie be?
