"Well, suppose I ought to go visit that psychic. If she's actually legit, maybe she'll be able to, I don't know, 'commune' with me or something - help me figure out what I'm supposed to do now."
You walked, or rather floated back down the street to the hole-in-the-wall shop you'd seen, Esmerelda's Ethereal Emporium. A faux crystal ball sat in the front window, surrounded by purple chiffon curtains above which hung a sign that read, "$20 Palmistry Readings ~ Walk-ins Welcome".
The place looked dodgy already, and you considered leaving right then and there, but something drew you to enter - an energy of sorts, like the static that clings after a rainstorm. You glided straight through the front door, past the deserted reception counter, and into the back room.
There, seated at a table and illuminated by a single candle, was a simple looking woman dressed in scant gypsy robes. Perhaps as you were expecting, she didn't seem to notice as you entered. Hesitantly, you called out in a ghostly voice, "Hello?"
