"Well....you don't go to my school." Sakaki said, looking at Kei's school uniform, which was vastly different to her uniform. "So, I guess I'll just meet up with you at your Dad's bakery. Are you good with that?"
Kei smiled and replied "I don't see any problems with that. I might be a little busy, having to feed my cats, but I'm sur-"
"Cats!?!" Sakaki's voice rose up, instantly jerking forwards as she heard the single word "Cat"
"Yeah, I have two pet cats at home. My Dad isn't too good with animals, so he leaves them up to me. I take it you like cats?" Kei replied and smiled at Sakaki's reaction.
"Heh heh, yeah....." Sakaki blushed, feeling a little embarrassed after her outburst. "They are my favourite animal."
"After we've met up, I'll let you have some time with them before we do whatever you have planned, okay?" Kei suggested.
"Oh yes, that would be wonderful!" While she didn't show it, in her mind Sakaki was jumping for joy.
"Okay then, see you after school Sakaki!" Kei said, heading in the opposite direction to her.
"See you then!" Sakaki waved to him as he soon disappeared around the corner. With a new found spring in her step, she happily made her way down to school.
At the school.......
Sakaki soon arrived at her homeroom class, opening the door and making her way down to her seat. Yukari, her teacher, was late as always, Osaka was idly sleeping at her desk, Chiyo was scribbling some notes down, while Kagura, Tomo, and Yomi were in a small group, chatting amongst themselves. From the looks of them, they were having a rather heated debate.
".......and THAT'S why I'd make a better athlete! Nothing you can say will make it false!" Tomo shouted in her usual tone, her hands on her hips and her stance in a triumphant manner.
"There's no way! I'm the only one who can even come close to beating Sakaki in a race!" Kagura replied, her face locked in an angry expression, her eyes shooting daggers at Tomo.
"Actually, here comes Sakaki now. Can you ask her about this instead of bothering me?" Yomi said, her voice dull and exhausted.
Practically running into her, Tomo blared into her face "Hey, Sakaki! Isn't it true that there's no way Kagura is better than me at sports?
Still gleaming at her proposed time with Kei and the chance to pet some cats, Sakaki merely walked past Tomo and sat down onto her seat, looking at the window in excitement for her after school plans.
Tomo, Kagura and Yomi all looked in shock at Sakaki. "T-t-t-there's no way someone could ignore Tomo like that!" Yomi said, a slight tremble in her voice.
Tomo raised her voice yet again. "YEAH! No one ignores Tomo Takino! HEY! Sakaki! SAKAKI!" Despite her shouts, Sakaki continued her blissful thinking.
"Hmmm....come to think of it, she did come in later than usual." Kagura said, thinking hard. "Maybe that has something to do with her strange mood."
"Hmmmm....." The trio said simultaneously. That was until a certain loudmouth opened her maw again.
"AH HA! I've got it!" Tomo yelled, causing Osaka to wake up.
"Huh....you've got what? I hope it's a present, I love presents......" Osaka mumbled before falling back into her slumber.
"What are you thinking Tomo, It better not be dumb...." Yomi responded, doubt in her voice.
"Isn't it obvious? Sakaki has a boyfriend!" Tomo declared, her hand raised in victory.
"What? No way, that's an obvious lie!" Yomi said.
"Hey, she has a good point!" Kagura interjected.
"Oh please! Where's the evidence?" Yomi asked, her hands folded.
"Well, we haven't got any now, but we'll get some!" Tomo replied. "We'll follow her and get some photographic evidence!" She held up her mobile phone in the air like it was a rare treasure.
"Should I go as well? Just in case one of us gets spotted or something." Kagura suggested.
"Huh....good point!" Tomo said. "We'll have to think about that....."
Later, at the end of school......
As soon as the school day had ended, Sakaki wasted no time racing out of the gates to make her way to the Bakery Kei's Dad owned. Unbeknownst to her, she was being followed by.......
