He looked in the general direction of the sea cliff caves which were to his left of his spot. He then decided to check out the caves in that area. It was about a 20 minute walk up the shoreline and away from the resort. He would dash there to make the trip shorter, but he would probably kick up a lot of sand and bother all the beach goers. He didn't want that.
So he walked to the sea cliff caves. He arrived there, and saw the entrance way. The only way in getting there was climbing rocks that act like steps. After getting up to the mouth of the cave, he stared into the blackness. He then walked down into the narrow passage slowly so he wouldn't run into anything. Despite losing some visibility due to the darkness, he was still able to see where he was going. He traveled straight down about half an hour until running into a dead end.
He then examine the wall to at least find something of value or interesting, but came up empty handed. "Well, this stinks." he said as it echoed through the passage. He then leaned on the wall to press a switch. Then, the dead end wall revealed itself as a door when it opened up. It lead into a small room. In the center of the room, Sonic's jaw dropped as he discovered....
