While the beach itself was a buzz, the boardwalk wasn’t too far from being completely crowded, several shops lined the wooden sidewalk, allowing some beachgoers a chance to get some food or just get out of the warm sun… And maybe perhaps purchase some fun trinkets to take back home to remind the people of their beach trip.
Although, for a certain Absol Moemon, she was glad to get out of the blazing sun and get into a slightly air conditioned shop, “Oooh… Why did it have to be the beach?”
“Bridgette, it wouldn’t be so bad if you took that sweater off,” Keslie sighed as she held up a rather colorful Hawaiian shirt from the rack nearby. “Heck, even one of these would work for you it’s baggy enough for your tastes.”
Bridgette’s face grew a bit redder, as she pulled the collar of her sweater a few times, “I’m fine, I really fine.”
“You’re literally baking in that thing,” Keslie sighed as she gestured towards her own outfit, a simple skirt that was tied around her waist with a strapless top that concealed her red and black bikini underneath. “This is the beach, you need to learn to loosen up and enjoy the atmosphere.”
“She doesssssss have a point you know,” a sleek voice slithered through the air.
Both Keslie and Bridgette turned towards the rack of clothes that Keslie was standing in front of to see a sleek young man dressed in a purple and black floral print Hawaiian shirt that was opened up to show his slightly muscular build and black swim trunks that seemed to have a red jagged tooth-like charm strapped to the waist. His black hair was styled back with a single long tail that was braided back and his eyes were covered with a pair of red shades.
However, the most prominent feature on the young moemon’s body were the almost countless tattoos that ran along his tanned skin. Bridgette looked a little too long before she turned to the side with her face getting redder by the second. “Sorry for eavesdropping, but I couldn’t help but listen in on your conversation.”
The young Moemon pushed himself from the rack of clothes and pushed his sunglasses up, “From the looksssss of you two ladiesssss, itsssss a given that you’re touristsssss.”
“And you are?” Keslie asked, knowing that the guy was probably here because he saw her and was probably trying to pick up a couple of ‘chicks’, but you can’t just judge a person on a few past experiences.
“I’m just a wandering soul walking on the sandssssss of thisssss beach,” the young Moemon hissed back with a smirk on his face. “I’m also an employee of thisssss shop you’re standing in. People simply call me Griff.”
To illustrate his point, Griff pointed towards a nametag that was clipped to his opened shirt that had his name written on it.
“Is it supposed to be upside down?” Bridgette asked with her head tilted slightly.
Griff looked down at the tag and spun around to obviously fix the messed up tag. A second later, Griff spun back around with the tag now gone, “That thing’sssss nothing but a pain.”
“So, any reason why you interrupted our conversation?” Keslie asked with a dull look in her eye.
“No particular reason,” Griff chuckled pushing the shades up to his forehead. “I just know touristsssss when I see them, after all, most people like to spend time on the beach… Unlesssssssss, you’re new touristsssss. Besidesssss, I figured that you’d come up to the counter a few minutes into the future asking about some attractionsssss here, the beach isn’t the only attraction here.”
“Alright, then what would you suggest then, Griff?” Keslie questioned, crossing her arms over her chest.
“There’sssss an arcade not too far from here,” Griff answered rather quickly with a yawn. “Itsssss part of a small restaurant called Seaside Shoresssss that servesssss some delectable treats, such as a seafood pizza and…”
“Well, thanks for the information, Griff,” Keslie thanked before she and Bridgette stepped out of the shop, leaving Griff to just stand there.
The Seviper Moemon merely shrugged his shoulders as he lowered his shades, “Asssss much asssss I enjoy the sightsssss, I prefer the quiet anyway.”
Outside the shop and into the sweltering sun, Bridgette was already drenched in sweat once more, pulling the collar of her sweater a few times trying to air out her body. “So, what’s where to next?”
“Bridgette, I’m serious, you should really change into a bathing suit,” Keslie interrupted, making Bridgette gulp slightly. “I know you’re shy, but if you keep hiding underneath that sweater, you’re going to get heatstroke.”
“Uh, well,” Bridgette stammered, considering the suggestion that Griff had decided, besides, she was a little intrigued with that seafood pizza that he mentioned.
