The pair of dragons spent almost three hours wheeling about the swamp looking for the cave before discovering it at the base of the mountain. What was most astonishing though was the mass that seemed to be protruding from it.
Like a half-filled sack big enough to hold several elder dragons, a mass of dark red oozed from the cave mouth and rose to half fill the entrance. It wobbled and bobbed gently, sloshing side to side in a slow rhythm. The two dragons descended quickly, landing in front of the cave (Spyro a little less gracefully due to his age) and proceeded to examine the titanic mass.
"Are those... scales?" Infernous gaped looking at the tiny speckled plates that covered the enormous wall that sloshed from the cave.
"It would seem so..." Spyro muttered giving the mass a gentile poke and feeling it wobble and shake like a mass of jello.
The whole mass rose to just above Spyro's head and creaked and groaned gently. Now that he was close Spyro could see it seemed to be expanding, inching towards them a little bit with every passing moment.
"How do we get past this to find Blaze?" Infernous asked, grabbing a clawed handful of the mass and pushing into it like kneading a pile of dough.
"Strange as this sounds," Spyro mused, "I think this might be Blaze."
"What!?" Infernous gaped, "How!? Why!?"
"I don't know," Spyro replied, "I can only guess he found the lake and made a careless wish. And now it's done this to him."
"Well how do we get in there and help him?" the red dragon asked as he already wondered about climbing into the cave over Blazes far and tried to look over the massive rolls to see if it was possible.
"I'm more worried about the water," Spyro stated and pointed at the dried river bed, "Blaze's size is blocking the flow out of the cave. That means the water is possibly backing up inside where he is. And there's another thing to consider. The water leaving the cave is no longer magical, otherwise someone would have found this place a lot sooner."
"So?" Infernous asked.
"So Blaze is filling a mountain cavern that's also being filled with a backup of magical water. There's no telling what an exposure to that much of it might do to him...
Sure enough as Spyro finished speaking there was a loud rumble from deep within the cave, enough to shake the whole mountain.
Choice 1: Blaze is fattening faster, he explodes out of the mountain as a mountain sized dragon blob.
Choice 2: Blaze is outgrowing the mountain, becoming a giant dragon but still a very fat one.
Choice 3: It's Blaze's stomach growling.Deep inside the cave he begins to wake up.
