Chapter #4

A few minutes earlier....

Eoin just finished studying and was prepared to finally relax for the rest of the day. He's been studying for hours every day now, he knew the material well by now. He deserved to have a break. Grabbing his phone, he walked up the stairs and into his room. He checked his messages while walking towards his bed, unaware of the 20 million people directly in his path. Before he could walk any further, a strange, circular device in his pocket started vibrating. The boy gasped as he took it out and looked at the screen, which displayed an image of the city, its size, and its location..

Below, the millions of citizens stared as the wall of flesh moved back slightly, and a much larger form slowly bent down in front of them. Looking into the sky, they could see that it was completely black. In reality, Eoin was just bending down and trying to see if he could find the city. The black "sky" was merely one of his pupils. He thought that maybe the calculations were off. There was no way they were that tiny. It was no use, though. It was far too small for him to see. "Wow, it really is THAT small. But I still can't believe I actually found one! That's so cool!" He said excitedly.

A few months ago, in the people of this Earth's universe, various tiny cities from alternate dimensions started randomly popping up. Much like your city, they were brought here when a group of scientists tried to teleport to another universe. The scientists of the much larger world created and distributed inventions that would detect people from other universes. The settings would allow them to contact the tiny people and view them closely. However, there has never been anyone as small as you were before.

Standing back up to his full height, he briefly compared his foot to the tiny city just inches away from it. To the inhabitants, it had to be much larger than their entire planet. If he didn't have his device, he probably would have stepped on it without even realizing it, leaving the city full of millions nothing but a microscopic speck of dirt stuck to his impossibly huge foot. The thought of that somewhat amazed him, but he knew that to them, being stuck here must be terrifying. Not wanting the citizens to panic too much, he decided to use his device to communicate with them.

"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" The boy's voice asked through the speakers of your own machine. This surprised you even more than learning how small you were here. The kid could actually see you? Wanting to know how that was possible, you spoke into the machine. "Yes, I can hear you, but how do you even know we exist?" "Oh, that's simple!" Eoin said happily. "My device sensed that there was something from an alternate universe in my room. Ever since the first few tiny cities appeared., almost everyone in my world got one of them."

"Wait, OTHER people from different universes have been here?!" Sara exclaimed, shocked by this revelation.

"Yeah, but you guys are waaaay smaller than the other ones. The smallest ones are usually about, like, 1/4th of an inch compared to us," he explained. "I'm not even surprised anymore," Rick commented. At this point, pretty much anything seemed possible. "So, what's your world like? How different is it from ours?" Eoin asked. "Oh, I mean I guess it's the same, except for the fact that as far as we know, a bunch of cities don't randomly appear," Tom chuckled slightly. "Yep, I guess you're right," Eoin said before sighing. He had so many questions, but he could only imagine how scared most of the inhabitants were. He was only able to communicate with your team, so he assumed that everyone else thought he had no idea they were there and the city would be destroyed soon. And he was right. Countless people were still panicking. "So, I guess you want to go back home now, right?" he asked.

You thought for a minute. He seemed like a nice kid who clearly wasn't going to do anything to hurt you on purpose, but being stuck in a world where you're this small was still unsettling to you and your team. Almost anything could destroy your city. "Yes, I think it's best that we go back. You know how to help us?"

What does he do?
