The argument was over the usual things, Kate had been letting her grades slip and staying out after curfew and when Mathew had admonished her over it he'd gotten nothing but cheek in return. Then to make matters worse your wife had taken Kate's side telling you not to be so uptight and spouting some nonsense about kids needing to have fun and relax occasionally. Things had escalated from there and all three of them had said some pretty hurtful things.
