The thief decides he wants more money and tries...

The thief thought back to his last meeting with Andrew Barrett that had just concluded a few hours ago. While Mr Barrett was a man of his word and did pay him on the agreed price he just could not get over the fact he felt he deserved another $150,000. As he walked home under the starless night it ate at him more and more. As he got back to his upscale apartment he turned on his computer and opened the file on the layout of Mr. Barrett's office. He looked over the physical layout, the security features, and decided he could do this without going through his normal weeks long planning process. After all do due the business deal he had with Mr. Barrett few security personal would be on duty that night. With that he changed back in to black BDU's, put on a tactical vest kitted out with the tools of his trade and headed back to MR. Barrett's office.

Getting in to the office was an elementary operation for the thief. The walls outside the office were 2 feet lower than most but even better was the fact the lone security officer at the vehicle checkpoint leading in to the office complex was asleep so the thief managed to go in to guard shack and move the cameras away before slipping past the entry control point. "Not exactly professional contractors Mr Barrett, and you get what you pay for," laughed the thief. With that the thief walked in to the building without having to use any tools as a side door was open. He took the stairs to avoid giving any security personal not asleep any help up to the top floor where the safe MR. Barrett put the canisters was located on. The thief thought to himself it was a good thing he stayed in shape and ate well as he got finished climbing the stairs. he pulled a blank key card he had pre-programmed back at his penthouse and opened the door to the office where the safe was. He hooked up some wires to the electronic safe and with started hacking away at the electronic key code. Within 15 minutes he had overridden the security features and had the default manufacturers code. He entered it and took the canisters out placing them in a briefcase. He closed the safe, sprayed it down removing any chance of his prints being found and exited back outside. this time he made the fateful decision to scale the fence as he knew from prior visits shift change for security personal would be going on any second. What he did not count was as he started to scale the fence he would be seen. "Halt" he turned around to see a security officer aim a MP-5 sub machine gun at him. The security officer lowered his weapon for a brief second to get on his radio and report an unauthorized person on the office complex of MR Barrett. In these split seconds the thief ran and jumped up and scaled the fence. The security officer reacted quickly and began to fire his weapon. Another security officer running to the scene saw the the thief and also began to fire his weapon. All the shots missed. What did happen though was the thief in his rapid scaling of the wall lost his balance and he fell as he got on top of the wall. As he hit the sidewalk outside the complex he glanced and saw his brief case was open from the impact of the fall. The canisters were gone. He did not have time to worry about that as within seconds security officers would be all over him. He grabbed his brief case and ran. By the time security arrived where the thief fell nobody was there. The head of security was notified as he came on shift and he called Mr Barrett.

MR. Barrett was coming in to work when he got the call. He was angry as hell to say the least. That said he had a problem. He could not report this to the police as how do you report something stolen that you yourself stole? Also he did not want his security team to know what was taken. As he walked in to his office his senior security officers were begging for forgiveness. He just looked at them and told them not to worry about it as the only thing he kept in this safe was some old photos and souvenirs. It still left him with the problem of where did those canisters go? Mr. Barrett went and sat down at his desk and started thinking of other options. Maybe he could buy Parker-Gibson and with it the the knowledge of how to make the formula. He began to think about who could have stolen the canisters from him but the only logical person was the thief he hired but he had used this thief before and it took him weeks to plan an operation. No way he would do it on a whim especially since he did not know what those canisters were."
