You and Julia walk through the clouds, and immediately something stands out to you. A man in a black suit. He stood out like a sore thumb, his clothes moving like a stain through the perfect white. His movements seemed erratic, but he was heading straight for you. You pointed him out to Julia. She seemed unimpressed.
"It's a bug. He just got a faulty code from some previous version of the program. We've experienced some things like this but...never this detailed," she said trailing off as the man arrived. He wore a dark hat, shiny leather shoes, and dark glasses. He stood in front of you and Julia. "See, he can't talk. Gimme a sec, I'll fix it."
Julia snapped her fingers, and looked troubled when nothing happened. She did it again with the same results. Then the man removed the glasses to reveal piercing blue eyes.
"Excuse me, you aren't Julia and Tom are you?" The mysterious man said. Julia was amazed. Then she looked frightened.
"You shouldn't talk...I...we...you haven't been given any programming. You're a freak. I need to reboot the system..." Julia began to make complex motions but the man gestured and spoke again.
"No, I am far from a 'freak'. I am what you might compare to an agent. From the Matrix. However, this system is not the one trying to destroy you. There is another user, who is trying to capture us. He drew you here because he has the most power here. I must ask you to come with me. If you stay the spruces may attempt to kill you." He surveyed the area, and you followed his eyes. The people around you did seem to notice you more. A few had stopped to stare at your group.
"But that's impossible, we'll just come back. There are failsafes-"
"I'm afraid this has gone beyond those. They have already begun to turn hostile. I need you to do as I tell you. I am going to open a portal and you must go through. I will see you on the other side."
You might have done this, but just then one of the characters jumped you with a wicked knife. Just barely, you managed to dodge the first thrust but you fell and instantly the others joined in. The agent took out a gun and shot into the oncoming crowd after putting a bullet in your attacker.
"We must hurry, these weapons were programmed on the parameters of existing weapons. I will have to reload." The agent pointed at a space in the air and a swirling vortex appeared. Without a second though you grabbed Julia, who may or may not have been moving in that direction and leapt through. Just before your mind faded to black you saw the man straighten his lapels and calmly step through the portal.
