That afternoon, when Josh woke up from his nap, he heard his mother gathering some papers and books in the kitchen. As he looked over, his cat jumped on top of him, and couldn't stop licking his hand.
"What is it, Munchie? Do you need more food? More water in your bowl?" he said, as he looked over at the two empty bowls on the floor. He felt so nice and comfortable, he just didn't feel like getting up. "Oh man... I wish Munchie's bowls were filled already..."
Then, when Josh looked up, suddenly, a fresh serving of cat food magically appeared in the bowl, and the other bowl was filled to the rim with fresh drinking water!
Josh finally got up and walked over to the kitchen where his mother had just finished carrying several bags of groceries from the car into the house and set them on the kitchen counter.
"What's this? What are all these books?" Josh said, as he saw a stack of books on the table.
"Those are Bibles and lesson books. There is a midweek church service with Father William" his mother explained. "Would you want to go to that?"
"Sure!" Josh replied.
"Could you help put the groceries away while I change?" his mom asked, as she walked towards her bedroom, leaving Josh alone in the kitchen.
"Wow... I wish all these groceries were neatly put away in the fridge and cupboards already..." Josh sighed. Instantly, all the bags of groceries had disappeared and everything was neatly stored away in the cupboards, in the pantry, and in the fridge, just as Josh had commanded.
"That was so cool!" Josh grinned, as he began to grasp the extent of his powers, as Munchie continued to walk right in front of him, rubbing her fur against his legs. "What is it, huh? You haven't left me alone all day!"
Just then, his mother came out of the bedroom and signaled to Josh that she was ready to go to church. Josh got in the car, and his mom got behind the wheel. Moments later, they were on their way!
When they arrived at the church, people were just getting ready for service. Josh sat all the way in the front row, when Father William came up and lead the congregation in an opening prayer. As he completed the prayer and everyone said Amen, Josh said to himself "I heard your prayers!" just loud enough for the priest to hear it.
The priest then gave a short lesson before a girl lead the group with a few songs before a closing prayer, where at the end, Josh repeated the same thing out loud. The priest looked up and wondered why Josh said that.
Finally, when the service was over, the priest walked up to the entrance near the back of the hall. When Josh came out, he looked down on the boy and asked him "Why did you give such an unusual response after the prayer?"
"Because... I heard all your prayers!" Josh shrugged.
"Only God can hear all our prayers, my boy!" the priest answered.
"Well... " Josh whispered. "I am God..."
"What? My boy... How can you say that?" Father William asked the boy.
"I hear your prayers! ALL of them! You prayed for Mrs. James this morning and Deacon Johanson this afternoon and Mr. Burns, who was sick and also you prayed with Father Jenkins just before the service!" Josh said with a grin on his face. "I heard all of it!"
"Oh... my... God..." Father William said, as he stepped back.
"That's me!" Josh grinned.
"Yes... Josh... You... You're my Lord, my God... In the body of a little boy!"
The priest then came closer to Josh and embraced the boy...
