Vanessa tapped the "apply" button, and nothing happened. Not "nothing" as in "the changes didn't work," she noted. "Nothing" as in, "it was as through she hadn't tapped the button at all." She frowned and tried again. Still nothing. She tried to back out, and got the same result.
"Oh shit," she muttered. "It's frozen." How could this happen? An app of godlike power shouldn't be prone to glitches like this, should it? Or maybe it should have even more glitches, precisely because it was so powerful? It was hard to say, really, but it was still annoying. Vanessa tapped around at random parts of the screen, swiped her fingers every which way, and even went so far to try and reboot the phone, but nothing worked. It was just completely frozen.
Vanessa could hear footsteps outside and hurriedly placed the phone, screen-down, where she had just found it. With any luck, whatever would happen wouldn't be too suspicious. She watched as Laura came in.
"Oh. Hey, Vanessa. What're you doing in my room?"
"Just looking for your stereo. Greg and I were gonna head to the beach, and I was wondering if we could borrow it."
