You quietly carried Cody in your arms as you walked towards your bed. The day may have just started, but you were completely exhausted from everything that had happened. You had believed Cody was gone for good, but now, here he was in your arms again. And after everything that had happened, you didn't know if he was still the same. The arms and legs were obviously new, and he was able to talk now... The thought of it filled your mind with concern as you looked at him.
You hesitated as you arrived before placing him gently onto your bed. There was no way that he would fit on his old bed now, and there simply wasn't any better place to put him. You got a decent look at him as he laid upon it. Though his body was clearly different, he still had the same features somehow. His fur was still ragged, and his limbs were thin and worn. He still looked like the tired puppy that you were familiar with.
You swallowed quietly as you wiped your eyes before moving into the bed after him. You gently pulled him into your arms as you closed your eyes. It wasn't completely clear what was going on, but perhaps the next day would bring you some new answer. "Of... of course... You can be here... with me..."
You fell asleep almost immediately as you held him, careful not to squeeze too tight as he rests. You had kept him on your lap in the past, and even like this, having him against you felt warm and comforting. You carefully pulled the blanket over him before closing your eyes and drifting of.

You gave a small yelp as you finally woke, your face wet as your eyes snapped open. You quickly saw Cody's face right in font of yours, happily licking across your cheek. He smiled as he saw you wake, eagerly nuzzling against your cheek. "Good morning, master!"
"Good-good morning." You hesitate a little, half-convinced that you were dreaming as you looked at the clock. It was already late afternoon, but Cody was gently sitting up next to you, his tail wagging slowly. He smiled as he slowly crept off, a little unsteady, but managing to get to the ground safely. "Are you feeling okay, Cody?"
He nodded as he sat next to the bed, looking at you as you slowly pulled the blanket off. "I slept well! How's master doing?"
"I'm doing okay, too." You smile to him, carefully moving off of the bed. "You shouldn't push yourself too much, though... You're still pretty weak right now." You carefully move, walking close before lifting him up in your arms. He still felt light in your grip, and you were more than a little concerned as you held him. However, he only curled up a little bit in your arms, licking softly against your chest. You couldn't help but chuckle softly as his head gently brushed up against your shirt. "Come on, let's get you some food." You could feel his tail wagging harder as you held him, clearly eager at the thought.
You walked into your kitchen, carefully letting him down on the counter top. Although he had gotten used to the spot, it felt odd placing him there now. However, he cheerfully slipped, sitting up normally against the counter. "Thanks, master!"
You smiled as you gently put your hand against his head, scritching it softly. He gave a contented growl, relaxing as he shakes his head around against your fingers. "What do you feel like for breakfast? Do you think you can try eating something solid?" You turned towards the floor, moving to pick his bowl up for him. It laid on the ground, having little use in the past few weeks. Most times, you had to feed him yourself, and he wasn't capable of using it. You had gotten the bowl just in case, and it had mostly been used for water on the rare occasions that he was capable of reaching it himself.
"I can get it!" He smiled eagerly as he glanced towards his bowl, his eyes flashing a little somehow.
You didn't really know what to expect, but jumped when you saw it give a twitch. It slowly hovered up off the ground, before moving towards him. He happily picked it up, holding it in his lap as he looked at you.
"C-cody?" You stutter a bit, paused in the middle of walking towards him. He saw your expression, and his ears turned down a bit.
"Master? Did Cody do something wrong?"
"Just... Surprised me. I mean, you're a bit different now, but I didn't know that it meant you could..."
"Cody is still Cody..." He gave a soft whine, his eyes softly looking at you, a little depressed. It only took you a moment to realize it, before you moved forwards, gently hugging him in your arms.
"I didn't mean that, Cody... You just look different, that's all. I know you're still the same sweet puppy..." You smile and gently kiss his cheek. He quickly perks up, his tail wagging against the counter top. "Right now, though, you're really something special... I just didn't know you could do something like that!" You slowly release him, turning just to grab something for him. "How did you do that, anyways?"
Cody's smile was back as he looked at you, happily speaking as if there wasn't anything odd going on.
