Chapter #6Enthusiastic Acquaintances by: Unknown This new city was a lot to take in, to say the least. It was unique even compared to the rest of Equestria’s vibrant towns. You didn’t know where anything was, or where to even start. Overwhelmed, you decided to start with the basics. You were hungry. You’ve been on the train for a while, and you haven’t eaten anything. You wandered around until you found somewhere to eat-- ‘Sugarcube Corner’, the sign outside said. You found that it was basically empty inside, save for two mares sitting at one of the booths, and another, older mare standing at the counter, who introduced herself as ‘Mrs. Cake’. As you were about to walk out of the bakery with a paper bag of fresh pastries, however, someone stops you.
“Hey! Are you the human?” You to see one of the mares eating at the restaurant tapping on your shoulder, looking excited upon seeing your face. “It is you! Wow! We didn’t know you were going to stop by Ponyville. It’s so good to meet you in person!” The enthusiastic mare said as she grabbed your hand, shaking it wildly, before practically dragging you back to her booth. “Here, come sit with us!”
You sat down at a booth along with the two mares-- the enthusiastic one sitting next to you a mint green unicorn, and the mare sitting across from you a light yellow earth pony. It seems they both had already finished their meals, but were just hanging around the otherwise empty bakery, chatting. They were both topless, but at least they were wearing shorts. The former introduced herself as Lyra, and the latter Bon Bon. “So how long do you think you’re going to say out here, all the way in our little town of Ponyville?” Bon Bon asks.
“Actually, I think this is the town where I’m going to settle down. I’m getting tired of wandering, y’know?” You said, in between munching down on a donut.
“Really? Here? Great choice! I’m sure you’ll like it here,” Bon Bon says. “Do you have any friends in town? Any place to stay?”
“I was thinking of just finding a cheap hotel to stay in for a few weeks while I scrounge up enough bits to rent an apartment or something,” You said, in between munching down on a donut. “I still have a few hundred bits from some odd jobs I did in Baltimare.”
“You can stay with us, if you want!” Lyra suggests, enthusiastically.
“Umm… what?” You stutter, not expecting this.
“Yeah, what? We don’t even know him,” Bon Bon raises an eyebrow.
“Think about it! It’d be so cool to have a human stay with us for a while. We could be the first to show him around Ponyville, and tell him about Equestrian society, and in return, he could tell us all about his planet, and his kind’s powers, and we’d be the first to ever know! Before the biologists, before the historians… this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!” Lyra continues to frantically suggest. “We have that one spare bedroom that hasn’t been used in years. It’s only going to be for a couple of weeks, right? While you get on your feet?”
“Uh… yeah, I guess.” You shrug, while Bon Bon continues looking skeptical, before even she just shrugs her shoulders.
“Alright, sure. He can stay at our place for a while. But you’re the one that’s going to keep an eye on him,” Bon Bon shrugs as she relents, knowing that she’ll never hear the end of it if she doesn’t. Lyra’s eyes lit up.
“Oh, yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is going to be awesome!” Lyra practically cheered.
“Now hold on, hold on. He hasn’t agreed to anything yet,” Bon Bon interrupts her. "So, ’Thomas’. What do you think?”   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
