"I want you to make me SUPER smart!" Sharon commanded, with Brian's puny wrist still in her mighty grip.
"S...s...super...smart?" Brian stammered.
"You heard me! I'm not going back to the way I was. Which would you rather have: A sister with the strength to knock over your house whenever she felt like it, or one smart enough to know better? Besides, don't you want to see how far you can take me?"
Sharon had a point. Of course she had a point--she'd just become one of the smartest people in the world. She knew how to string together an argument. And if Brian was going to have to supercharge Sharon's mind or body--since it was looking like he wasn't getting away without giving her a boost--he figured it was safer to make her an A-plus-plus-plus student and be done with it. Maybe then she'd be smart enough to appreciate what she had and leave him alone.
"All right," he sighed. "I'll make you smarter."
"Good!" Sharon smiled wide. Firmly, but gently, she guided Brian's captive hand to the side of her head, where he'd touched her before to grant her the considerable intelligence that was now at her command. "Do your stuff!" she sang. Brian activated his goddess-given power, sending a burst of energy into Sharon's brain.
"I feel it!" she cried, closing her eyes. She began to tremble. "Yes! More! More! I need it, Brian! I need it ALL!" Brian continued to flood Sharon's system with his enhancing energy, and he watched as Sharon's eyes twitched rapidly.
"Yes! My intellect SOARS!" she exulted. She opened her eyes and looked at him with a gaze that pierced him utterly. "I require further enhancements to my cognition. Why have you ceased your amelioration?"
"You're... smart enough," Brian protested.
"On the contrary," Sharon said, as though speaking to such a lesser being were a taxing labor. "My grand design will require a degree of mental alacrity yet unseen by any human being. I must be more than merely superior. I must be unprecedented. I crave greater stimulation! My consciousness hovers over the threshold between mortal wondering and eternal genius. Brian, you must bestow upon me the magnificence I deserve. Do so at once!"
Brian wasn't sure what to say. He felt he'd crossed a line, but he couldn't be sure whether Sharon intended to harm him or help him. Could she be trusted with the mental might she now so obviously possessed?
"Brian," Sharon warned, "The sheer force of my sentience could, at this very moment, simply crush a mind so feeble as yours. Do not hesitate."
With a shudder, Brian unleashed another blast of mind-boosting energy into Sharon's hungry brain.
Sharon gasped. "AT LAST," she moaned. "Once I was but an insect, but now...now I am truly a mental GIANT! There is much to accomplish." Brian swore Sharon's eyes were glowing as she made her next request...
