Quake, Hellfire, and the Splinter Bomb

Daisy and her Secret Warriors had investigated a suspicious fire at an abandoned warehouse only to discover one newly empowered Inhuman Grant Ward. Scared of what had happened to him, Grant readily agreed to return with them to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters as long as it was promised that nobody would try to kill him, especially Hunter, Morse, and Simmons. After a long meeting in Coulson's office, a compromise was reached: Grant would come back and work for S.H.I.E.L.D. on a probationary basis, and he would be pardoned for all past crimes under Inhuman law. He also agreed to see a psychiatrist twice a week. Andrew Garner, May's ex husband, was brought on to work with him and to gradually reintroduce him to the rest of the team.

Two months later, the Secret Warriors had been sent to capture a telepathic Inhuman with an affinity for technology and machinery. Both Daisy and Grant had been injured in the fight and were sitting in the med-bay waiting for Simmons to check them out after she was finished with the just arrested Inhuman in the lab. Daisy was pleased with how well FitzSimmons and Grant had worked together to repair their relationship over the past eight weeks. They had even started joking around and watching movies again. Hunter and Morse were still holding grudges, but Daisy knew they would eventually come around.

Daisy and Grant were still sitting and talking quietly in the med-bay when they heard a scream and a whirring noise come from the lab. Before they could do anything, glass exploded inward and a splinter bomb flew into the room and landed between them. They looked on horrified as the agent that had come to check on them disintegrated in front of their eyes. Grant looked down as the whirring noise increased in pitch and saw a red light blinking. He reached over to grab Daisy. "Come on, this things gonna blow!"

As they hit the ground, the splinter bomb exploded.
