Trevor finally felt full after he ate 4 plates of food. His stomach bulged out with satisfaction, which you could see even through his T-shirt. Trevor collected the plates and took them away. You wondered how much it would have cost the breakfast for the two of you, but Trevor paid for it. Trevor and you piled back into the car and drove off.
"Are we going home?" You asked.
"No." He answered. "These sandals are the only thing I can put on my feet for a week now. So ... you know."
In twenty minutes, you are already in the shoe store of the local mall and you are looking at the offer together.
"First, I think we should see what size you need." You say and point to the foot size meter on the ground.
Trevor sits down and takes off his sandals. Two red lines on his feet show where the tight straps of the sandals used to be. Trevor puts his right foot in the meter. You will be shocked when you see that his toes have already extended a little beyond the line indicating size 17.
"No wonder all my shoes are small." Trevor said.
You started looking for shoes in sizes 17 and 18. The selection was not very large, but in the end Trevor bought a pair of size 18 sneakers. You've convinced him that it's better if it's a little bigger, just in case his feet grow further soon. He also bought a size 18 sandal, which he immediately put on. You didn't know what to do with your old sandals, so you put them in the box of the new ones and brought them as well.
On the way home you stopped for lunch and Trevor stuffed himself with several plates of food again.
When you get home, you turn to your brother.
"Hey, now that you've grown up I have to mark you with the others. It's a tradition."
Trevor smiled. "If you want."
Trevor stood next to the door frame where you marked the change in his height over the years. You pulled a chair over and stood on it. With a pencil, you mark the new height, which was well above the last measurement. You write the date on the line and take out a measuring tape. Trevor grabs the bottom of the tape measure and you read it at the mark.
"6'8." You say.
"How much?" Trevor asked.
"6'8. You've grown another inch."
"If this continues, I'll have to change my entire wardrobe again."
