Lightning flashed outside the window as Batman walked through Arkham Asylum’s library.
Despite all the time Bruce Wayne has spent visiting the old mental hospital he had never grown comfortable with it.
He knew everyone of its inmate’s record from the famed like Joker, Two Face, and Riddler to the forgettable like Sumo, Humpty Dumpty and Zerba-man.
Bruce felt like he had a responsibility to help them, just like he felt that he had a responsibility to protect the city of Gotham. A few he had known before their fall into insanity; but he knew that none of them were born mad criminals.
They were all victims of tragedy and misfortune that had broke their mental state.
He knew that he could have been one of those inmates following the deaths of his parents all those years ago if it hadn’t been for the likes of Alfred and Dr. Tompkins.
So he did what he could to help. He often made donations to the hospital from his personal funds and did his best to make sure that the brightest mind were given jobs in its walls.
Bruce’s dream is that one day those he had battled over years would be healed and be able to live the lives they deserved not the ones they were given.
Bruce saw the security guards surrounding the massive hole in the library’s wall.
“About time you got here!” Aaron Cash head of the Asylum’s security yelled to the cape crusader.
“How many got through?” Batman asked as he looked through the massive hole.
“Hard to tell they didn’t sign the guess book.” One of the guard joked
Batman didn’t laugh.
“At least a dozen. They also took the librarian as well.” Aaron said
Batman entered the hole in the wall, it was apparently connected to the old building which had left a secret passageway behind the walls.
As Batman traveled down the path the old tile floors changed to dirt and began to descend into the ground like it was cave.
Batman eventually reached a massive cavern and in the center of it was a large Ruby Spider Totem.
Batman move closer to it and scanned it. To his surprise it had a high Mana level which rivaled magic produced by the Mistress of Magic herself Zatanna.
Suddenly before he could decide how to proceed on this discovery
