It took a few minutes of walking before anything started to happen. The sunlight was starting to have a desired affect on the clothes. The initial shrinkage was very slow at first. The skirt began to shorten and tighten around Lauren's legs, making it a little more difficult to walk. The blouse began to test the strength of the buttons holding it closed.
Lauren felt the tightness as was confused. She didn't think that her clothes had been that tight before leaving. In fact, she just bought the outfit, how could it be too small. She looked down to check herself.
As she watched, she could actually see her hemline raise up ever so slowly. Her hands shot down to the edge of her skirt and attempted to pull, but she could do nothing to increase her coverage. Then she saw gaps showing between the buttons on her blouse. She realized what was happening. Her clothes were shrinking!
Lauren didn't know what to do. She was a good distance from any friends apartments or her own, and she was obviously quickly running out of time. There was no choice, she would have to hurry.
Lauren kicked off her sandals so she could run and set off for what she hoped was safety. Unfortunately after a minute of walking, her clothes began to tighten to the point where movement was difficult. Her skirt was so tight she could only take tiny steps, and yet it was now at mid thigh! And her blouse seemed like it would burst at any second.
Lauren could hear comments as she struggled. People were beginning to notice her predicament. Everyone who could see her knew it would only be a moment before something gave. But what would it be?
