Harry gulped for a moment as the room went silent. The Sorting Hat thought for a moment, as it pondered where Harry was about to be sorted. Then, it made a decision, and blurted out the answer that everyone had been waiting for.
"Ravenclaw!"
Harry let out a deep sigh of relief. He was sorted in the House of Ravenclaw!
"Congratulations, Harry!" Hagrid smiled, as the Sorting Hat was removed from his head while Harry slowly got up from the stool. "That is a great house to be sorted in, you know?"
"Really?" Harry asked his big bearded friend.
"Ravenclaw is the house of intelligence, wit, wisdom and creativity, my boy!" Hagrid cheered. "All the smart kids go there!"
Hermione walked up to them and joined in on the conversation.
"Very good, Harry! You'll like it in Ravenclaw! Garrick Ollivander came from there, you know that?"
"Who?" Harry wondered.
"He was a famous wandmaker! He attended the House of Ravenclaw! Plus, they got some wicked Quidditch players!"
"Yeah... but none as powerful as OUR team!" Malfoy sneered. "Nobody can beat the Slytherin team!"
"Go away, Draco!" Hermione hissed. "We're not talking about you!"
Malfoy quietly turned around and walked away, with an evil smirk on his face, as Hermoine and Harry just stared at each other.
"You'll become very good at answering riddles..." she added.
"Riddles?"
"You need to answer riddles, rather than provide passwords, in order to gain access to the rooms in the Ravenclaw Tower!" Hermione explained. "You'd better get used to that!"
"Oh boy..." Harry sighed. "Well, that can't be so bad... I hope the other guys in Ravenclaw will like me!"
"Don't worry... These are all the smart kids... You'll fit right in! There are some of them, standing in the corner over there!" she said, pointing to a small group of boys who were huddling in the corner of the room.
Harry turned around and decided to join the Ravenclaw group so he could introduce himself as the newwest member of the house...
