"We made a mistake last night - well, several mistakes..." she giggles a second but then tries to be serious again. "The alcohol and hormones got the best of me. I wasn't thinking right."

She sees the confused look on your face and continues. "And you...you felt like you were with your wife. But you weren't. Even if you can pretend I'm Jackie, I don't love you THAT way. In my mind, you're still my son and that's not going to change."

She leans forward to take your hand and speaks in a more comforting tone. "I don't know what's going to happen. We may have to keep up a pretense for quite awhile. But we can't be together like that again - I'm not actually your wife. You need to look beyond the physical form - look past all this" - she gestures at her body - "to see who's really inside. I KNOW how much you love Jacqueline. I've always thought you two were soul mates. What you and Jackie have is too special to give up on. I want you to try to work it out, regardless of what she looks like now. Okay?"

You nod slowly, trying to digest all that she's said. She pulls you up off the bed. "Come on, now, let's get moving. We've got a plane to Hawaii to catch. We can talk more about this later."

She pushes you toward the shower and you get in, still feeling rather dazed. The water helps you shake off your groginess and confusion. You ponder what your mom said. You don't know if you could BE with Jackie while she's in your mom's body, but you feel you must try.

You get out to find that your mom has dressed in Jackie's 'traveling clothes' for the flight - a light knee-length summer dress. It flatters her figure, showing her lovely legs and buxom breasts. You stare in lust for a momement, then realize who this is and shift your gaze.

"I just spoke with Jackie," your mom tells you. "The earliest flight she could get is tomorrow and it has a couple layovers. So we'll have maybe two days before she joins us. Then we'll all figure out how to move forward."

You dress and gather your bags. As you walk out the door, she gently grabs you. "Gerry, I know this is very difficult for you, and I'm afraid it won't be any easier for awhile. It will probably not help your confusion but you need to get used to calling me Jackie. And we'll sometimes need to act like 'honeymooners' -but keep in mind who I really am, okay."

You nod in agreement and answer with resignation "I know, 'Jackie' ..."

She gives you a sad smile and you leave the hotel.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. A long flight...

2. Arriving in Hawaii...

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
