As you focus on Judy's smile, it's like it turned into another flash that blinds you. The memory of Terri and Jackie switching bodies comes forward. You wonder if they told Judy or if they had been able to reverse it. Is Jackie still upset about being in Terri's body? Terri told you it would be OK, but is it? Your stomach rolls while your head spins and your heart beats faster and faster trying to run out of your chest. Every concern you and Jackie ever had about marriage and the actual ceremony marches to the forefront until you start to sweat and get giddy at how this is exactly what everyone said you'd feel at the big moment.
Then everything is like still shots. Judy jumps from in front to alongside the other bridesmaids, and the Matron of Honor appears at the end of the aisle, popping forward a meter at a time growing bigger as she gets closer until you see Terri's face clearly. A joyous smile. A single, slight tear of happiness. Her eyes a bit glazed. Red lips move in silence. Each frame is a word: "be - happy - love - you." It's all exactly how Terri would be and what she would say. You relax and feel your heart slow. Maybe everything is OK.
Then she pops out of sight, and there's an empty aisle looking to be a mile long stretching to a figure in white. From stop action to slow motion, she floats towards you. Your heart now swings with joy, and you can barely hold back tears as your emotions take over. The veil precludes you seeing details, but the sparkle from her eyes passes through distinctly. Contentment, happiness and love shine bright as you gaze at them. You feel her hand take yours though you don't recall offering it, and you both turn to face the minister.
The ceremony runs its course, and you barely remember the question and the "I do's" or placement of rings; but when you hear, "You may now kiss the bride," you don't hesitate lifting the veil and squeezing her with the truest passion from your lips. Your only thoughts were that you and your true love, Jackie, were now man and wife.
There is so much hub-bub after you two strolled back down the aisle that you never think of what happened earlier. The bridesmaids are hugging and chatting. The groomsmen are congratulating you. The photographer is posing everyone which feels like it goes on forever. Finally, it's just you and your bride all alone, and you just smile at each other as you pull her in for another even longer and more passionate kiss.
