You try to push thoughts of the strange transformation that has happened out of your mind, and just focus on preparations for the ceremony. By the time it is ready to begin a few hours later, you have almost convinced yourself that this morning was a strange dream or hallucination, brought on by your nerves.
You stand at the front of the church with your best man, watching the bridesmaids come down the aisle. Amanda looks very cute as she walks to the front - you'd think she was older than her 12 years if you didn't see her excitement and nervous energy as she bounced across the sanctuary. She winks at you and mouths "Good Luck!", and you supress a chuckle.
Then the Wedding March plays and Jaqueline begins her walk down the aisle, escorted by her uncle. She looks radiant, like an angel in her dress, the train trailing far behind her. She comes up beside you and takes your hand, and you turn to face the minister.
The ceremony passes like a blur - you can hardly remember any details. Jackie seems poised and elegant, not missing a beat. You manage to say all the right words and, before you know it, you hear "I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."
You take her in your arms and give her a long, deep kiss. At first she hesitates as if reluctant; but after a few seconds she throws herself into the kiss enthusiastically. It's weird - she feels a little inexperienced, like she's unsure what do to with her tongue. But you accept it as 'just nerves' and continue the kiss.
You finally break apart and the minister introduces you to the audience. You march back down the aisle and into a side room to wait for everyone to head to the reception. You have to wait on the photographer, so you won't be joining the reception for another hour or so. Jackie squeezes your hand excitedly. You whisper "I love you!" to her and she gives you an odd look. You don't get a chance for further conversation, though, as the photographer whisks you and the rest of the wedding party out for a grueling series of pictures.
You all wait good-naturedly, though, and finally it's all done. The whole wedding party hops in a limo to ride to the reception. Amanda manages to slip in the seat beside you, so you ride between her and Jackie.
