Chapter #4
Karen throws herself in her role a bit too much.
by: Unknown
To describe your wedding in one word it would be: Amazing. You still feel the butterflies in your stomach as you remember how Jackie walked towards you. She was beautiful. Or should you say Karen looked beautiful. When you held her hands standing in front of the priest you could see her glittering eyes looking at you.
You didn't get half of what the priest said during the minutes he spoke. You were so entrenched by the beauty besides you. It somehow scared you a little too. It was your older sister inside there, shouldn't she be a little more acting like herself?
You can't catch her doing something Karen would do, instead as Karen stares at the priest you noticed her hands. You saw her playing with her engagement ring. Something the real Jackie was always doing.
Then it was time for the I do part. You look Karen straight in the eyes as the priest finishes the question. "I do." You tell him quickly looking at Jackie. Jackie didn't notice your staring, instead focusing on the priest. Now it was time for Karen's turn.
As the priest finishes his sentence you look at Jackie, the real one who was standing behind Karen. You can hear Karen saying I do and at the same time you see Jackie's lips doing the same.
"Now you may kiss the bride." The priest said to me, waking me up. I looked at Karen's face, or Jackie's face. I was still a little stunned and as Karen looked around she grabbed me by my neck and kissed me on the lips. Those familiar lips greeted me, those same lips I kissed almost every day. It was almost natural for me to do it and I held Jackie's back as I kissed her. Jackie? I quickly tried to look at Jackie apologizing for my act, but before I could do something Karen grabbed me by my arm as we turned around to leave the church.
That was the last time that day I spend time with the real Jackie. At the reception she congratulated me of course, but she had to act like Karen in front of the others and take care of Amanda. Then me and Karen had to dance in front of the others. She apparently inherited Jackie's dance skills. She danced wonderful, it was like nothing had happened. Just a bad dream.
