One month. It was almost exactly that since you had last spoke with Jackie. The wedding had been a whirlwind, with little chance to talk privately after the inexplicable switch of her and Amanda's minds. You all agreed to carry on with the ceremony until you could try to figure out what happened and how to fix it. But you and Amanda (in Jackie's body) were never alone through the wedding & reception, and Jackie was whisked off by Amanda's family afterwards.
So you and Amanda spent your wedding night mostly in awkward silence, interacting as little as possible. Over the course of your lengthy honeymoon tour of the Mediterranean, you gradually grew more comfortable with each other. It was difficult for you as you kept seeing the woman you loved when you looked at Amanda. But Amanda, with her young, carefree, and silly personality helped you relax and even enjoy the trip - her enthusiasm was infectious.
She treated you the same as always - her favorite uncle - as you travelled together, excitedly pointing out the sites as she dragged you through each city. You couldn't help but occasionally respond as if she were Jackie, even leaning in to kiss her a few times. But she always pulled back, with a polite but firm reminder of who she actually was.
You couldn't manage any calls with Amanda given the time difference, and not wanting to raise questions with your sister about why you were calling during the honeymoon. But the whole family was greeting you at the airport, so at least you were going to see her again!
You rushed off the plane, grabbed your luggage, and headed to the pickup area to meet her.
