"S-sure Hinata." Naruto stammered. "Where do you want to go?"
"You choose Naruto." Hinata replied with a sweet smile.
"Um...h-how about Ichiraku's then?"
Hinata frowned at Naruto."That's where you would choose to take a beautiful girl on a date? Some ramen stand? Do you really think that's the best place to take a beautiful woman on a date?"
"Um...N-no?" Naruto questioned. Hinata smirked as she saw the doubt flicker through his eyes.
"Then where do you think we should go?"
"I...er... suh-somewhere else?"
Hinata rolled her eyes. "And where is that somewhere else? Don't tell me the great Naruto Uzumaki is too pathetic to make a simple decision over where to eat."
"I...ah... W-where would you like to go?"
"You really can't decide can you? Jeez that's kind of sad Naruto. Fine, I guess I'll choose a place so our date isn't a total disaster. Follow me." Without waiting for Naruto to follow, Hinata started walking towards the destination she had in mind. She smirked as Naruto hastily scrambled after her. She remembered a few years ago when she would hastily scramble after Naruto.
"So ah...h-how has your day been so far Hinata?" Naruto nervously asked.
"It's been quite nice. Father told me he wanted to make the head of the Hyuga clan soon. Really the only downside to today is that I'm going out on a date with an idiot guy who can't even choose a proper place to go on a date and who can't speak clearly." Hinata said in a slightly teasing tone. She watched the self doubt flash across Naruto's face. She never would have guessed it would be this easy to get Naruto to start doubting himself. He had become so confident during and after the war.
At the rate she was going, Naruto would have no zero confidence and would easily bend to her will in no time.
"So w-where are we e-eating?"
"The most expensive restaurant in Konoha of course."
Naruto mentally swore. There was no way he could afford that place. He made a lot of money now that he had been officially been given the title of "Sannin," but he gave most of his money to the orphanage in Konoha so those kids would never have to experience the hell he endured. He kept just enough money to continue living the same lifestyle as he had just before the war started.
He wasn't sure what to do. Hinata was already disappointed in him because he stupidly suggested they go to Ichiraku's for a date... He didn't want to disappoint her again. But he just flat out didn't have enough money to even buy an appetizer at the place Hinata wanted to go. The cheapest thing on the menu was $200!
Naruto pondered what he should do. He could ask Hinata to pay...As a Hyuga she could easily afford the place... Hell she could probably buy the restaurant if she wanted to. He could always suggest a picnic instead. That was romantic if done right, and Naruto could certainly afford a picnic... And with the help of his shadow clones he could have a respectable meal made in a matter of minutes...
Or maybe he should try to come up with another idea...
