This choice: Naruto tries to figure out his feelings • Go Back...Chapter #4Naruto tries to figure out his feelings by: NVR   "Let's stop for now Tenten" Naruto said after receiving the hit and acknowledging to himself he was way too distracted to continue with something that required a lot of physical effort and concentration, specially if the rival in front of him was the source of that confusion
"Huh? Didn't expect you to give up after one hit, but that's okay" Tenten said, a mix of emotions showing on her face too. She was visibly excited at finally being able to pierce Naruto's defenses with her weapons, but slightly disappointed she couldn't capitalize on it further and confirm if something distracter Naruto or not. Tenten knew Naruto was doing him a favor anyway, and he had every right to call it quits if he so wished
"Well done Tenten, you have improved a lot and even landed a direct hit" Naruto said rubbing his shoulder, the area where the whip connected with his body
"Thank you, to be honest with you I wanted to go on though, would you be up to spar again some other day?" Tenten asked and Naruto agreed before they parted ways. Tenten seemed satisfied with the training and Naruto meant it when he told her she improved, but he needed to clear up his mind about what the hell happened back then
The rest of the day Naruto spent it at home, resting, "relieving" some of the pressure and trying to figure out what was what he wanted. He had one thing clear, this started since seeing Tenten and that powerful whip, before that the sparring session went swimmingly and he knew he could overcome her if he decided to get really serious about it, but after that everything became such a mess.
Touching again where the whip hit him sent him a strange tingle within her body, something that again he could not translate into words. But the problem is that the strange feeling kept lingering as he imagined different scenarios, and a part of him he considered the reasonable one kept reminding him of something obvious, there was nothing special about the whip and maybe what he had were just feelings with Tenten herself.
Not really finding a clear answer after wasting most of the day on what was basically pointless dreaming, he sighed and thought the best thing he could do was talk to Tenten or spar again with her, wondering what was the best way to make sense of such a strange feeling. Maybe he should allow himself to get hit again? even betting something to not make it look too suspicious? Maybe he could even find a way to make her stronger using his own chakra so she wouldn't suspect a thing at all... Or maybe he should just talk with her more instead? maybe he could get her to talk about that fateful day she destroyed that Akatsuki man, or just about the whip itself. That was a bit scary though, what if she got weirded out about it? He considered Tenten a friend but not a close one, and he wasn't sure if Tenten felt the same way about him, but maybe that would be the best way to understand and get over whatever what was going on with him.
