The spar went the typical way, with Naruto not using his full power on Sakura and focusing more on polishing those skills that still needed some work, while Sakura tried to catch him and be quick enough to land another hit on Naruto. This used to anger Sakura in the past at the thought of not being treated seriously, but by now it was water under the bridge. She understood she had no chance against Naruto if he decided to use his full power, and she also knew that whenever she managed to land a punch or a kick on him, it wasn't because Naruto was actually letting her but because she managed to find little moments where Naruto lost focus or where he wouldn't be able to escape her at normal speed. She knew the sparring was benefitial for her, and she was wise enough now to understand that's what mattered.
"Oh, there she is. Hey Sakura!!" Ino spotted the two team 7 members sparring and apparently needed her friend, so naturally Naruto and Sakura stopped.
"You're getting a lot faster!" Naruto grinned
"Thanks Naruto.. Hey Ino, what's going on?"
"I'm sorry to interrupt your training but we could do with some help at the hospital" Ino said and Sakura nodded before thanking Naruto again and going back to work on what was now her main passion, saving lives with her proficiency as a medical ninja
Something about that struck a chord in Naruto, a sad feeling that he didn't understand where it came from overwhelmed him for a moment before he shook it off and went back to wander through the village.

"Oh, ero-sensei" Naruto saw Jiraiya in one of his usual voyeur acts and waited until its predictable conclusion before continuing the conversation
"Naruto! you seem quite lost today"
"Eh? how could you tell"
Jiraiya just laughed "I know you well enough to know something troubles you, you're like an open book"
"Hmm, it's just that I feel I've been wasting quite a bit of time lately" Naruto said while looking up at the clear sky "It doesn't feel befitting of my supposed hero status"
"What do you mean? aren't you training with Tsunade to be the Hokage?"
"I am, but she's too busy so it's only taking up a couple of hours now"
"So what's the problem? Enjoy life before being buried by paperwork" Naruto's sensei shrugged at what seemed to be an inane concern
"Haha, I just feel a bit aimless now that we're in peace time and Tsunade assured me I would be the next Hokage" Naruto admitted apologetically while scratching his head
"Go and enjoy some aimless fun with your friends then"
"Everyone seems to be busy with something now, today I was sparring with Sakura but she had hospital duty so it was cut off"
"Hmmm.. well if you don't want to rest" There was a glint on Jiraiya's eyes that excited Naruto, could it be a secret mission
"How about helping me with my research for the next book?"
"No way, I'm not a pervert believe it!" Naruto said with a groan of disappointment. Sometimes he craved serious advice and ero-sensei couldn't cut it.
"Suit yourself then, go and help somewhere else. Tsunade with paperwork, Sakura with hospital things.. I'm sure you can be useful for some of those busy ninjas" Jiraiya said with an indignant voice before leaving Naruto alone, apparently offended by his refusal to perv on women.
"Maybe he's right, I'm tired of being idle" Naruto sighed and wondered who he should help
