“Hey, lady!”
Maggie immediately turned her head to the sound of some boy calling to her. She feels her heart sink in her chest as she lays eyes on an entire troupe of kids, all looking up at her expectantly. There were three boys and two girls, and one of the boys seemed to be standing at the front of the group.
“We were gonna play knights, and we were wondering... could you pleeease be the dragon?” The boy begged her. The others all seemed fascinated and nervous around her, staring at Maggie's plump form whenever she wasn't looking. “I mean, you're big enough to gobble us up an' everything!”
She goes pale. Were they really asking her to... eat them? She supposed she should've expected this, given her newfound reputation. That wasn't the concerning part, though; the concerning part was that she was actually tempted! “I'm... afraid I can't do that...” She stutters, trying to resist the urge to just swallow him on the spot.
“Well, sure ya can!” The boy said, looking a little confused. “I mean, Tobey and Annie said so.”
A few of them seemed smug, whispering little 'I told she so's to eachother when she sheepishly admitted she couldn't eat anybody. For some reason, this angered she. “... alright. I'll be the dragon,” she nodded, “but I'm not going to actually be gobbling anybody up, understand? This is just for pretend.”
They all seemed visibly disappointed when she said she weren't going to eat them. “Aww... well, alright, if you say so...” The boy frowned, but quickly got over it. They marched over to a nearby glade, and she reluctantly followed. “Okay, so Lori's gonna be the princess, and the rest of us are gonna be the knights. So the whole point of the game is to rescue the princess from the dragon's belly...”
“She's not going in my belly, though,” Maggie immediately asserted, interrupting him. He paused for a moment.
“Yeah, so, Lori will just sit here in this little hole, and we'll pretend it's your tummy. Okay?” He said, pointing to a little hole in the ground. She nodded, deciding that all sounds satisfying enough. All this talk about sher belly was making she hungry, though, and the five of them seemed fascinated by just how loudly sher stomach was constantly growling.
She helped a bit as all the little ones prepared for the game. Lori just took a seat in the hole, relaxing while the knights picked up little sticks to use as swords, and all donned grey hoodies as 'armor'. Eventually, they pretended to ride invisible horses over to where she were guarding the hole. “Let her go, foul dragon! The princess is not your food!” The boy said, pointing his stick at she.
She get into character immediately, her brain consumed by predatory urges. “Oh, but she is! She was absolutely scrumptious!” She said in a deep, 'intimidating' voice, as she leaned back and patted her round gut. “And you know what? You knights look scrumptious, too!”
With that, the game was on! The little 'knights' ran around, giggling loudly while she chased them, trying to keep them from rescuing the princess. Whenever she captured one of them, she picked them up and placed them into the hole too, where they had to sit out the rest of the round. Eventually, all five of them had been captured.
Admitting defeat, the knights climbed out of the hole and reset, preparing for the next round. Over the next half hour, she played their pretend game. Sometimes they were able to rescue the princess, but for the most part she managed to capture them all with ease. Like a real dragon, she was must larger, stronger and faster than the knights, so they stood no chance.
It was a great workout, and a lot of fun, but eventually, they got annoyed by how easily Maggie was winning. “Hey, this isn't fair!” One of them eventually pouted, crossing their arms. “You should have to actually put people in your belly instead of just putting them in some hole in the ground! Then they'll be really heavy, and you'll run slower!”
She was distressed at the statement. She glanced at their little leader for guidance, but he just shrugged. “It's true,” he said, simply. Maggie felt conflicted. She knew she shouldn't eat people, but all this exercise she's been doing has made her really, really hungry. Besides, they were practically begging to get gobbled up!
