Things hadn’t started so good for Oliver. He had been the only kitten not to get adopted by a kid. He had barley had any sleep last night because he had a hard time finding a place to sleep where he was protected from rain, and when he woke up he had to deal with people, cars and an angry hot dogs salesman.
Hiding in an alley Oliver thought that things couldn’t get any worse. That’s when he heard a voice from behind. “Ooh, you sure picked the wrong guy to get hot dogs from, kid.” Oliver turned around and got a little scared when he saw that it was a dog. Other dogs that he had meet earlier had barked and tried to chase him, so he was on his guard a little against this strange. He might eat him. “G-Get away from me!” Oliver said trying to sound aggressive.
“Whoa! Chill out, man.” Dodger said, “I don’t eat cats. It´s too much fur.” (This was actually a bit of a lie. He hadn’t ever tried to eat a cat, but that doesn’t mean that he wanted to someday get a chance to taste one. The thought of tasting one had been in his mind for a long time, and it was very rare that he would find an ownerless kitten wanderings around in an alley. This was the chance he have been waiting for. He could eat him right now, but then he got an idea. Maybe he could use this cat to help him before he made him a meal.)
“But listen here” Dodger said, “All you need to do is to make a distraction, and I´ll do the rest.”
And with that Dodger started barking and chasing Oliver out of the alley. (This was all a part of Dodgers plan but Oliver didn’t know that.) In a try to escape the dog and get protection Oliver run up to Louie (The hotdog salesman) and started to climb up him. Dodger wasn’t fare behind as he started to run around the man and bark like mad after the cat. This caused the man to lose balance and fall into some garbage cans, and Dodger took the chance to take a trail of connected hotdogs and strap them around his neck as a neck less. Turning around he saw that the man wasn’t even looking at him. He was to busy trying to catch the little kitten. “This cat made things more easy for me then I thought.” Dodger thought and made a simple walk away with the hotdogs.
Later on in a construction-building site Dodger was sitting and counting on how to spilt the hotdogs with the other dog at home, when he heard something walking up behind him. It was Oliver and he didn’t look happy. “Oh hay there kitten.” Dodger said when he saw him. “Why did you leave me behind?” Oliver asked angry. Dodger answered calmly “If I had to turned back and help you, Louie would have been able to take back the hotdogs.” “Sigh. Guess you´re right:” Oliver said. “And besides, you manage to escape from him.” Dodger said. “Yeah, but only barley.” Oliver said.
Looking at the hotdogs made Oliver´s stomach growl. There were eight of them. All of them were about the same size as he was. “Wonder if I can finish even one?” Oliver thought.
Dodger saw and heard Oliver´s hunger for the hotdogs, and that reminded him of his own hunger. He could just eat this little kitten right now and then return with the hotdogs to his friends. Or he could stuff the kitten with one of the hotdogs before eating him.
