By now, a couple of outfits worth of girly clothes have been laid out on your bed, but you think nothing of it. It’s normal after all! Girly clothes are normal. You look at Rachel, who is staring at you with a giant smile across her face, with her legs crossed. Without realizing it, you’re sat exactly as she is, in a polite and giddy way.
Rachel gestures to you, and says, “You know, isn’t it odd how you’re surrounded by such cute clothes, but you’re wearing such boring, boyish ones?”
You look down at yourself, and you realize that is quite strange. You haven’t seen it until now, but you feel like wearing such clothing is just plain unappealing. You shouldn’t be in such boyish clothes, especially in front of Rachel!
In your embarrassment, all you can muster out is a weak, “…Sorry.” You feel almost ashamed.
“It’s ok girl! Now get changed while I get something real quick.” Rachel says, as she walks to the other side of the room to get something from her bag.
Without thinking, you start to take off your shirt and pants, neatly folding them and putting them on the ground. Suddenly, you realize you’ve just stripped to your underwear in front of Rachel, and feel a sense of embarrassment for how exposed you currently are.
She glances over, and gives a kind smile. “Don’t be nervous, girls change in front of each other all the time,” Rachel said cutely. “This is normal.”
You then have the biggest realization, why would you be nervous? “We’re both girls, changing in front of each other is completely fine,” you think to yourself.
You then take off your underwear, folding it and putting it on your other clothes. In front of you, you pick up a pair of light teal panties, with lace on the top and bottom, with a matching bra. You put them on instinctually, since it’s just a normal thing! Looking over to Rachel, you see she’s wearing a simple outfit consisting of short-shorts and a blouse, so that’s what you’ll do! You pick up a pair of white short-shorts and a cute teal blouse, and put them on. Finally, you feel much better like this!
Rachel turns around holding a small bag, but stops right when she sees you. She squeals in a cute and girly way, and you join her as you both rave over how cute the outfit looks on you.
She settles down, puts the small bag she was holding to the side, then grabs your hands. She then stares deeply right into your eyes.
“The way you look, the way you feel, everything that has happened to you up to this point has been normal. Repeat after me,” Rachel says.
“I look cute and girly, and that’s normal.”
“I look cute and girly, and that’s normal,” you reply, completely blankly. You keep repeating after her.
“I feel absolutely feminine, and that’s normal.”
“I listen to music meant for girls, and that’s normal.”
“I hang out only with girls, and that’s normal.”
“I’m a girl, and that’s normal.”
Rachel stops, then smiles. “Good girl. And if you’re a girl, any memories you had of being a boy would be weird, right?”
You think for a second, and realize that she had a great point. If I’m a girl, when could I have ever been a boy? Suddenly, all of your memories of growing up and developing your friendships change to fit this new realization, that you’ve always been a girl. You hadn’t thought of it before, but suddenly everything makes more sense now!
Rachel places her pointer finger under your chin, pointing your gaze towards her.
“Tony, in the next minute, you are going to slowly forget your name. This isn’t going to shock you or scare you, since that’s just normal.” Rachel says softly.
You simply smile and nod, not consciously perceiving what she said, but still raking in the information.
She reaches over to her small bag she set aside, and pulls out a notecard and a pen. “So, I was thinking we could start planning a little bit for this project on our end, if that’s alright?” Rachel says as she sits down on the floor.
You quickly sit down with her. “Of course! That’s a great idea!” You say eagerly.
“Thank you… I’m so sorry, this is so awkward. I literally am spacing on your name!”
You giggle a little, “No worries! It’s Tony!”
Rachel smiles, then writes something down on her notecard. “Got it, sorry for the slip up! Now down to business-“
Rachel’s phone starts ringing, and she gestured to you that she had to take it. She steps away for a moment, which gives you a moment to admire yourself some more. You can’t believe you have never spent the time to appreciate how cute you look, as you admire your outfit. You then look over to the bed, where you see your old clothes folded on the ground. This starts to make you wonder, why were you wearing those clothes?
Before you can put more thought into that, Rachel comes back, looking slightly irritated.
“Is everything alright? You look upset,” you say with sincerity.
“Oh yeah, just some drama with…” Rachel trails off as she looks down at her notecard. “…nevermind. But it’ll be all better! Let’s just get back to the project.”
You simple smile and nod.
She picks up her pen, and clicks it, preparing to write. “So, going over what we have so far, what was you name?” Rachel asks, as she stares intently at you.
All of a sudden, even though this feels like it would be the most simple question to answer, you can’t seem to solve it. Your name… how could you forget something that important?
“I… I don’t exactly… remember,” You say with defeat. Even though it’s so simple, you feel as if you are letting the group, no, Rachel down by forgetting such important info.
“That’s ok! I actually write it down just a second ago.” Rachel says, as she flips over her notecard to show you what she was writing. In the top right corner, under Rachel’s name, she wrote “Tina” with a small heart next to it.
Of course! Your name is Tina! It must be, after all, since that’s what the notecard said. You trust Rachel anyways, so you spend no more time thinking on it. Your name is Tina.
“Oh, thank you so much!” You say shyly, still slightly embarrassed of the situation.
“Absolutely,” Rachel says with a smile, “…now onto business! What do you think we should do?”
