How about what if the young girl who was merged with some animal by her own father was kept from being "Mercy" killed by some awful alchemist and maybe somehow later by alchemy, someone figures a way to either defuse the girl and the animal or at least have the girl's mind be more focused and the body reshaped a bit to a more humanoid, non-monsterous pleasing form?
