Her life had changed since then, mostly in good ways. She managed to become partner at the law firm, and was working hard to keep her clients happy. She was now at the top of the company, and was making great money. She had just gotten home from work, when she was surprised by a phone call. Seeing that it was Dr Smith she answered it promptly.
"Hello? This is Janice."
"Hi Ms. Jones, this is Dr. Smith calling."
"Oh hi, whats up?" Janice asked, wondering what he wanted.
"I was wondering if you could come in tomorrow to discuss something important." Dr Smith stated.
"Why what's it about?" She asked, worry creeping into her voice.
"Well I would prefer to talk in person instead of over the phone."
"Alright then, I can come in at 9 AM. Is that ok?"
"Yes that is fine. See you then." He replied.
Janice hung up the phone and started to wonder what it was about. She just hoped it wasn't anything bad.
She went to bed early that night.
Janice walked into the doctors office, a little bit nervous. She had been called in by him yesterday, and was worried that something had happened with her fertility. She was guided straight into Dr Smiths office, where he was sitting down waiting for her.
"Hi Doctor." Janice said as she walked in. "What was it you wanted to tell me?"
Dr Smith sighed and looked up from his desk. "We've just received word from the company that makes Fertilex, the fertility drug you were taking. Turns out the drug was found cause side effects to the infants conceived while taking the drug."
"What do you mean?" Janice asked while she had her hand on her stomach.
"Well, from what the company has told me, any child born from anyone who took Fertilex will be born with some form of in their words 'god like powers'." Dr. Smith explained to a silent Janice.
"So you're telling me that my twins are going to be born with superpowers?" Janice said, trying to make sure she understood everything right.
"Yes." Dr Smith said. "Though their powers could manifest during pregnancy or after birth. We don't know exactly how they will appear yet. What we do know is that once they develop their powers, it won't go away."
"Oh my god.." Janice gasped. "What am I supposed to do?"
"Well, if you notice anything peculiar in the upcoming months, you'll have to contact me right away so we can help you. I know it's a shock, but just remember that they will still be your kids at the end of the day." Dr. Smith said, trying to reassure her.
Janice was in shock. "Thanks Doctor. I'll try to keep that in mind." She got up and left.
As she got home, she sat down and started to think about the situation she was in.
