As the Scooby Doo gang was settling in the middle of a forest to camp for a few days, the Mystery Machine stopped in a place where trees were rare enough to let the vehicle's crew leave the van. Once out, each of them reacted differently: Fred was happy to find some place to rest and started to gather the necessary elements to build a fire. Velma, on the other hand, simply stretched and sat on a flat boulder to keep reading the encyclopedia she had recently tackled. "What the-" the redhead said before barely stabilizing herself, preventing her from sinking into the muddy surface. A quick look on what she thought to be an ordinary stick caught her attention, especially when Daphne noticed its golden grip and sharp tip, as if decorated with a shard from a shattered sapphire.
"Hey, who would throw away something like that? I'd rather bring it to Velma, she always loved to study archeology, maybe that would help her to drop that stupid book of hers."
But as soon as Daphne grabbed the ancient item, which seemed to be a spear, its jewel glew in a powerful flash, momentarily blinding the young woman. Once able to open her eyes again, she was...
