"Sorry, Steve, you've used up all your sick days,"

"Fuck," you mutter to yourself under your breath. "Alright I'll be there then. I'll try not to throw up."

You end the call. Now you have to go to work and fake being sick. That's what you get for lying. Your wife stands up.

"If it makes you feel any better I could make you a quick breakfast," she says.

You would take the offer, but the last time she did the stove burner got left on high and you were left with charred scrambled eggs.

"Thank you, but I already slept in a bit too late. The roads could be packed for all I know. What if this is widespread?"

"I never thought of that. I think I'll check the news. Be careful on the road," you wife says to you while you grab your things hurriedly.

"I'm taking a bus," you say.

1. You get on the bus, and it's a freak show
