This choice: indeed you are right, an old lady coming out of the house the very same moment • Go Back... A short, elderly woman slowly stepped out with the aid of a cane. She had long flowing grey hair that brushed against her shoulders and piercing green eyes. She was thin but not overly so and wore clothing from a past era making you guess she did not get out much. You watched as she frowned at her garden before sighing, a tear falling from her eye. It was then you decided to try to help and caught her attention by waving. "Would you like some help with your garden, miss?" Kindly, you asked. "I'm quite handy."
The woman smiled sadly. "I don't have much money to offer, young man." Tearfully, she replied.
"I'm not asking for any." Taking a step to the gate, you said. "May I approach?"
The elderly woman was visibly surprised as she nodded and you walked up to her garden and surveyed the damage. "It's not bad, really." Lightly, you said. "It just needs a little attention."
With that said, you got to work, weeding the garden and turning the soil. You were actually quite gifted when it came to gardening and within an hour, the garden was beautiful and full of life once again with a variety of flowers you had ran out and brought back from your own house. The old woman was overjoyed to see her garden lush again and rewarded you with a grateful smile.
"Thank you, young man." Smiling, she said. "It's been a while since I saw the garden come to life so beautifully." She paused. "I must ask, though; why did you do this for a perfect stranger?"
You shrugged. "It just seemed to be the right thing to do." Lightly, you replied. "No one deserves to be all alone, ma'am."
Again, the elderly woman rewarded you with a smile. "What is your name, if I may ask?"
"John." Kindly, you said. "John Joe. My friends call me J.J."
The woman smiled. "My name is Leia Thorn." Softly, she said. "How would you like to help me around my house. Upkeep, cleaning, and general company?" She giggled slightly. "I can offer you something far greater than money for your services."
You were not sure what to make of the Leia's offer. Still, you came this far, offering to help her with her garden. You sort of expected her to ask for more and, since she had little money, she would of course offer something else in return for services. What do you say?
