"Well, I helped you this much." Patiently, you said. "A little more won't help."
Lei smiled, clearly overjoyed by your response. "I'll put on a pot of tea and prepare lunch." Softly, she said. "Please, come inside."
You entered Lei's house with a sense of caution to find everything surprisingly neat and clean. Only nearly everything in the house was literally falling apart. "I can see where you need some help." Rolling up your sleeves, you said. "I can go home and grab some tools."
"I have all the tools you will need, Joe." Sighing, Lei said. "I'm just not handy with them at all."
"Show them to me and I'll get to work then." Smiling, you said.
After showing me where the tools and parts were stored, I got to work and had managed to repair nearly everything in the house before lunch. It really wasn't much work as Lei had apparently made several attempts to repair things on her own. As I washed up to join her for lunch, she looked about with an impressed look on her face. "You have done a remarkable job, Joe." Softly, she said. "I am truly grateful we met today." She threw you a kind smile. "Thank you so much for your services."
"No problem at all, Lei." Kindly, you replied. "It did build up an appetite though."
Lei giggled. "I believe it." Bemused, she said. "Now, as for the reward I promised..."
