Yuki sighed, mid-morning boredom taking it's toll on her. True, working in this little coffee shop had never really been exciting, but... it was at least busy sometimes. It was around 10 am; late enough for the breakfast crowd to have cleared out, and early enough that the lunch rush hadn't hit. Having squared away everything at the register, Yuki leaned on the counter-top, and realized exactly how bored she was. Almost as bored was Yuki's friend and coworker, Jen, who was fidgeting in her seat at one of the tables.
Jen was one of Yuki's best friends, and, normally, not someone who had a problem with having nothing to do. Jen could figure out a way to have fun anywhere she went. Of course, her idea of fun usually involved dumb dares and pranks, but at this point, Yuki could go for anything to pass the time. Of course, there was always the worry that Jen would have her do something stupid...
But then again, Yuki thought, this place is practically empty...
It was true; she was lucky to see someone pass by the window outside. The only other person in the shop was Karen, a regular to the cafe, and another one of Yuki and Jen's friends. She was seated opposite Jen, and had just been sipping away at her coffee. She was a sweet girl, but awfully clumsy, something she and her friends had fallen victim to more than once. If it came down to it though, Karen wouldn't mind if they played some game to pass the time. If anything, Karen might join in.
Yuki yawned. On the other hand, maybe she just needed a bit of a pick-me-up to make it to lunch. If only the coffee machine hadn't been so finicky lately...
