It was the middle of July, and Yuki had one of the best jobs she could ask for; as a lifeguard at her local public pool. All in all, it was a pretty good deal. She got to hang out at the pool all day, and she got paid pretty well. She had a lot of responsibility, so it good get a little boring sometimes, having to constantly remain aware of the pool-goers, but she didn't mind. She was well liked around the pool, and it helped that many of her friends were regulars. Of course, she couldn't talk to them much while on duty, but she always had someone to talk to when her break came around. Plus, she got in for free when she wasn't working.
Of course, the kids could be a handful, and some of the older patrons were a bit of a pain, but, nothing's perfect. The authority and recognition made it all worth it, and Yuki had to admit it felt good knowing how to save people's lives.
