You and Emma were still enjoying each other's company as you left the restaurant.
"I still can't believe you're 17, even if you are almost 18. When I saw you I thought you were in your 20's at least." you said
"Nope. I took off from my foster home a few months ago, and I doubt they ever even reported me missing." Emma replied
"Well your life is better without them in it." you said
"Agreed." she said "Where are we going next?"
You looked down the street and saw a place called Cosplay Land. You led Emma to the front door.
"Let's check out this place." you said, and the two of you walked inside
Inside there was a beautiful blonde woman in her 20's wearing a Supergirl costume waiting to greet them.
"Hello and welcome to Cosplay Land. Admission is $100 for 3 hours, $150 for 6 hours, and $200 for a full 12 hour day. Which would you like?"
"Two 6 hour sessions, please." you said, and held up the credit card that Eros gave you
The woman handed you the little machine and you swiped the card.
"Why so expensive?" asked Emma
"Well unlike most amusement parks you may have been to in the past, Cosplay Land is like an all you can eat buffet. Once you pay to get in, everything is free, including food, drink, photo-ops and prize winning games." said the woman
Once you finished paying, Supergirl led you into the next room. She handed you both a pair of skin-colour lycra bodysuits.
"Normal clothes aren't permitted inside. Strip down to your underwear and put these on." she said
Emma blushed fiercely, but complied nonetheless. You both put the bodysuits on. They covered your entire bodies, except for your face. You both had to tuck your real hair inside the hood, but the hoods had their own hair on top. Yours was a mop of brown hair, and Emma's was a long wavy blonde. You both checked your clothes with your other stuff in a locker.
"Good. Now, I'll explain how it works inside. The park is filled with winding streets of games, and food and rides. There are plenty of map stations so you don't need to carry a map. Now, there are 10 levels. You start at 0. There are 5 different level stations for each level. You can only play games and go on rides that are the same level or lower. Also, you can only challenge a level station that is one level above your current level, and you cannot challenge the same level station twice. If you fail all 5 level stations, you level up by default. But when you fail a level station, a penalty article will be attached to your suit, and you will not be able to take it off until you leave the park." Supergirl explained
"Alright. Emma, are you sure you're up for this?" you asked her
"It sounds like fun. Let's do this." she said
"Excellent. In you go then. Have fun." said Supergirl
She opened the door to a staircase. You both ran down it, and at the bottom, you found yourselves in a massive amusement park. You walked up to the map, and noted that you were at the south end of the park. Emma looked around and ran towards a nearby ride that looked like a lot of fun. But she was stopped at the entrance by a girl dressed as Sailor Moon.
"What level are you?" she asked
"Level 0. We just got here." replied Emma
"Well you have good taste, since Updraft, here, is our most popular ride, but it's also a Level 10 ride. Sorry." she said
Emma walked back over to you.
"There is no way I'm leaving here without going on that." said Emma
"Well then, I might as well make it a wish. You have to get to level 10 and ride the Updraft before we leave here today, even if that means failing through all 50 level stations." you said
"Let's get moving." she said with a determined smile on her face
You walked to the nearest level 1 station. There was a girl who looked like a stylized teen librarian sitting there.
"Welcome to the Level 1 Mind Station. I will ask you both 5 questions, and if you answer them all correctly, you will be upgraded to level 1. Who would like to go first?" she asked
"I'll go first." you said
"What is Ash Ketchum's dream?"
"To become a Pokemon Master."
"What is the name of Goku's firstborn son?"
"Gohan."
"What Legend of Zelda N64 game followed Ocarina of Time?"
"Majora's Mask."
"Where did Ash first encounter Team Rocket?"
"Viridian City Pokemon Centre."
"What is the name of the region where the early episodes of Pokemon take place?"
"The Kanto region."
"All correct. Well done. You have earned the level 1 pass." she scanned your suit, and pressed a button, which made the roman numeral 1 appear in gold on the back of your left hand.
You looked at Emma, and she looked nervous.
"Are you okay?" you asked her
"I'm okay. Let's do this." she said
"What Pokemon game followed red version and blue version on the gameboy?" asked the girl
"Yellow version?" Emma replied, sounding unsure
"Correct. How many controllers can the N64 manage at once?"
"Four."
"Correct. What Pokemon did Ash start out with in the TV show?"
"Pikachu."
"Who was the protagonist of the anime Cardcaptors?"
"Sakura."
"Correct. What two colours are the standard Pokeball?"
"Red and white."
"Correct. You have also answered all of them correctly and have earned level 1." she said
Now both level 1, you approached a nearby map station.
"Let's keep going. I don't see any worthwhile prizes or rides below level 4. They're all kiddy rides." said Emma
"Alright. Let's keep going then." you said
The two of you walked around, each of you managing to successfully level up without fail. Until you reached the level 5 station. It was another Mind Station, which meant 5 trivia questions. But these questions were more difficult than the first mind station, but you had managed to answer them all correctly, and Emma had answered the first four.
"How many attacks can the Pokemon Magikarp learn before it evolves?"
"Two." answered Emma
"That is incorrect. The correct answer is three." said the station monitor, who looked like Bulma from Dragon Ball Z
Emma face-palmed at how narrowly she had failed.
"Please step this way to receive your penalty article." she said
Emma walked around to where she was, and Bulma had her sit down. She slid Emma's feet into a pair of high heels, which had a little lock on the strap across the ankles. So when Bulma closed the strap, there was a click, leaving Emma stuck in those heels. She got up and stumbled back over to you as she started to get used to the heels.
"Why don't we get something to eat, and then we'll continue on." you suggested
Emma nodded, as she stumbled along, blushing from her embarrassment of not being able to walk properly.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
