Tom was rather jealous of his friends, who were ALL better than him in sports. They were all excellent in football, basketball, baseball and soccer. Tom was average in the things he did. Football was too dangerous and he was too short for basketball. He played a little soccer on weekends and he struggled with baseball. So, looking more athletic would be a big plus for sure!
So he took one of the candies out of the jar and put it in his mouth. As he let it bounce around his mouth and let it roll around his tongue, he pondered what to wish for. Yes, a little more muscle would be great. But how much? He had to be specific. Thirty pounds? Forty? Fifty? He decided on the average of the three.
"I wish I gained another forty pounds of muscle right now!" Tom said to himself, as he stood in his room, with a candy in his mouth.
No sooner had he stated his wish, or the magic from the candy started to take affect.
Tom felt his calves expand slightly, ballooning outward until they were sticking out from his legs like softballs! They were rock-hard, and covered with thick veins! His quadriceps above his knees grew thicker, wider and deeper as well, forcing the boy to spread out his legs more. Thick veins covered them as well as layers of muscle surfaced over them.
His abdominal muscles became more developed as they changed into rows and columns resembling tiles on a kitchen floor or washboard abs. His pectorals ballooned from his chest, sticking out like two mighty spheres of muscle, widening his shoulders and thickening his arms into big pythons of power and strength.
Next, his biceps, triceps and lats widened and inflated, filling out and completing the muscles on his upper body as well. This gave him a V-taper, with his body above his abdominal muscles being much wider than below his abdominal muscles. His neck was much wider as well, along with thicker and wider deltoids and traps.
When the growth spurt ended, Tom turned and walked into the bathroom where he examined his new figure in the mirror. He was amazing!
