The night Applejack has been dreading for as long as she could remember was nearing. Tomorrow would be her twentieth birthday, normally a joyful celebration but not for the apple family. Nopony could remember when it started but at one point in its history the entire family was cursed. On the night of their twentieth birthday every member of the apple family would change, mentally and physically. Physically they would become insanely strong for the night, capable of wrestling down manticores. Mentally they would gain a dark appetite, an appetite for other ponies.
The combination was what made this curse so dangerous, basically at midnight Applejack would become a super strong pony eater until the first rays of the sun were visible in the sky. The last family member that had to go through this was her brother Big Macintosh. Applejack, Granny Smith and Applebloom would visit another family member until it was safe again while her parents and uncle Orange would contain him. When they returned only uncle Orange was still there and Big Macintosh has never been the same after he learned that he has eaten his own parents.
Applejack shook herself out of these memories and looked back to the ponies that would hopefully contain her tonight.
