It has been a few weeks since Twilight has ascended to alicornhood and has settled into her new role as princess. The transition was very hard, not only because of her new role but the fact that her relationship with her friends didn't change helped a lot. Now she was sitting at the dining hall table with princess Celestia and princess Luna, who invited her to Canterlot. Even though she was happy to see the other princesses again, Twilight couldn't help but notice how tense the atmosphere was. "Thank you for inviting me here, it's really good to spend some time with you again. There's so much I wanted to ask you about being an alicorn too." She said, trying to break the tension and getting a conversation going. The wings alone were a big change for her and then there was this strange hunger she often felt. That it was very hard to satisfy didn't help.
Instead of lightening up the atmosphere however, it seemed that the two royal sisters became somewhat uncomfortable. They looked at each other as if they were about to do something, they rather wouldn't. "Yes Twilight, there are many changes that come with being an alicorn." Celestia began to explain to her and then took a deep breath. "Tell me Twilight, have you noticed an unusual hunger, especially around other ponies?" She asked. Twilight first wanted to ask what she meant by: around other ponies, as she remembered. It was always around ponies that the hunger came, especially around more... robust ponies like Mrs. Cake. When she was alone, it never came up. "Y-yes, but what does that even mean?"
Again, Celestia took a deep breath before she started to explain...
