"I'm so glad we decided to leave early. I swear if one more person asks me when I'm due, I will hit them." said Eve, as she walked into her house holding her massive pregnant belly. She was dressed nicely in a long, sleeveless tight red maternity dress that hugged her bulging belly and showed off her maternally enhanced cleavage (http://g.nordstromimage.com/ImageGallery...). "I'm mostly happy to get out of these shoes." she said, kicking off the flats she had on.
"I know what you mean Eve." said Brendan, following behind her, dressed in a light blue dress shirt, paired with a purple bowtie (due to his Doctor Who fandom) and dress pants. "I'm pretty sure there was a reason we didn't stay in contact with some of those people." he laughed.
Brendan's girlfriend, Lauren followed behind him, dressed in a silky blue boatneck dress that ended just above her knees, showing off her long, muscular but feminine legs (http://g.nordstromimage.com/ImageGallery...). "I'm glad for it! I still haven't figured out why you still hang out with this guy though." she said with a smile, pointing a thumb at the tall skinny guy that was Justin over her shoulder.
"I haven't figured it out either. I'm just some bum who comes to reunions still in his work clothes" joked Justin, who was dressed in a blue plaid cotton dress shirt and some comfortable jeans. He had come straight to the reunion dinner from working at his store and didn't have time to change.
Lucy followed him into the house, dressed in her short, v-necked, silver sequinned dress and tall, black heels (http://g.nordstromimage.com/ImageGallery...). "I thought you looked great, Justin. Way better than the skids who showed up in their Metallica t-shirts.
At that moment, Eve's sister Jaime and Brendan's sister Shelbi came upstairs from her room Jaime was staying in for the weekend in the basement. "Oh good. You guys are back. How was it, Luce?" asked Jaime, who was dressed in her skin tight jeans and tiny cropped t-shirt (https://thechive.files.wordpress.com/201...).
"Nothing special. Just a mediocre dinner and some watered down drinks." the ginger answered her best friend. "I could use a real drink before we start playing some games."
"Say no more!" said Shelbi, heading off to the kitchen. She was currently training to be a bartender at work and felt she needed all the practice she can get. A short while later, the purple haired girl in the high wasted jeans and button down shirt (http://41.media.tumblr.com/2741f4d256013...) returned with cold beers for everyone. "Here's drinks for everyone. Now let's do something. I'm bored since all of my friends are out of town and Im stuck here for work."
"Well, we have Monopoly or Catan..." started Kristen.
"Actually, I think Lauren has something that would be interesting to try." said Brendan.
With a look of excitement, Lauren went into her purse and pulled out a deck of cards. "I just got these from a weird shop the other day before we left to come here. I thought I would be fun to try them out. It's called Swap Poker."
"Sounds interesting." said Justin "What are the rules and how does it work?"
Lauren pulled the deck out of the box and on top was a card with the rules written on it. "Here. Take a look."

"You play a normal round of poker but instead of betting money, you bet traits of yourself. The traits can be anything you can name. The traits are not equal in worth, some are more worth than others. A list can be found below.
The game will be played like a normal poker game, you bet and the one with the best hand wins. The winner can choose to either swap traits with those in the pot or swap these with the other players. You can't swap back traits you had when you began the game. It is possible to win and lose other traits throughout the game. For example it is possible that Brendan get's red hair, loses it and wins the same again during the game. He can't swap his own hair back.
Swapping ages or genders does not change you physical. People just think of you that you're that old or the opposite gender.
It doesn't matter what you bet, it is possible that there are several of the same trait in the pot. It's not possible to swap a hand for a foot or something like that.
At the start of every hand, two people have to place a pot. The person dealing has to give in traits worth 1 points, the person right to him/her has to give traits worth 2 point. That then circles clockwise the next hand.
When someone set bets, the other players have to bet equal or more points to continue playing, e.g. Eve has a bets traits worth 4 points, then the other will have to bet traits worth 4 or more points.
Reality adjusts to the swaps. It is only possible to leave the game table in between hands not when the game is played.
All swaps can be reversed any time after two days when all players gather, put their hands on the card box and saying a magical formula.
Trait - Points
Small body parts (e.g hands, feet, lips... etc) - 1 Point
Small Possessions (e.g. jewelry, single books, single dvds) - 1 Point
One clothing article - 1 Point
Personal Infos (e.g. Age, name... etc) - 2 Point
Larger body parts (e.g. torso, legs, face... etc) - 2 Points
'Medium' Posessions (e.g. small personal library, DVD collections) - 2 points
Skills - 2 Points
Male/ Female body parts - 3 Points
Major posessions (e.g. cars, houses, all of one article of clothing) - 3 Points
Gender - 3 Points
Personality changes - 4 Points
Whole Outfit - 4 Points
Life - 5 Points
"Does anyone else think it's a weird coincidence that the examples use our names?" asked Shelbi.
Brendan smiled at his younger sister before looking to Lauren. "You're just being paranoid, Shelbi. Lauren, since it's your deck, do you want to have the honours of dealing first?"
"Sure , hon. Then you can start off the betting with the small blind, and Lucy can be big blind, and can continue around the circle."
"We know how poker works, Laur. Deal the cards so I can unload this belly on someone." laughed Eve.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
