You draw your sword and create a barrier between Iris and the rest of the world. Two more arrows follow, one barely missing Sapphire, the other lodging itself in your leg. You kneel over in pain and just manage to bring up your blade to block another bolt. When you gather your wits you immediately look around for Iris, but she's already at work removing the arrow from Blaze's wing. In what seems like no time, she has Blaze and Sapphire out of range of the shots, and is back by your side dislodging the arrow in your leg. The shots are cut short as Sapphire begins to unleash a torrent of fire in their direction. Any men who aren't burnt to a crisp begin to flee into the woods.
You wince at the pain, but are sure to hide most of it from the girl. She leads to where the dragons now lay.
"Are you okay?" She asks.
"Fine," you reply. "Who were they shooting at?"
"Me."
You don't know what you've gotten yourself into.
