Melis decided it would be best to retrieve her antidote from her horse Sunfire, because she didn’t know what dangers protected the lab or bookshelves, and she knew the village had spells to keep the residents inside it and she didn’t want to be stuck in a possibly hostile environment. Now, all she needed to decide was how to go about it.
Not for the first time was she frustrated with her large breasts as they jiggled with her movements. Melis didn’t want to be ugly but looking like a royal pleasure woman was frustrating with how she was treated by many of nobles. Clothing was essential for her modesty even if no one was around, so she went to her satchel to look at her scrolls holding her breasts tight to prevent their movement. She hated to loose a scroll but she wanted to cover up, so the sacrifice of a scroll of minor healing. It felt more like wearing a towel, but some support was better than none.
As she collected herself and started to head for the stairs she saw a black rat maneuvering towards her. It was easily twice her size and its teeth didn’t look friendly. With a quick prayer a searing holy light flashed from her hand leaving a scorched rat corpse, but to her dismay she saw at least five other rat starting to head her way. She could try to make a run for the stairs but that would leave her out in the open, or she could make a dash for a hole in the wall where she could fight the rats one at a time, however the hole spoke of untold dangers, and might not lead down the tower.
