“I know of a shortcut but it would mean going through the kingdom of the Fae,” Tim told Marina. “We should be able to get in and out before they even notice we are there because the path isn’t used very often.”
Marina frowned, “How do you know a fairy path?”
“I was given it as pay back for trapping a Fae noble.”
Marina shuddered at the thought because the nobles of Fae took a great deal of joy paying back grudges and even if the creature failed to escape in the lifetime of the cleric it was likely any relatives of his would be in danger of the revenge of the creature. The Fae were notoriously difficult to trap and the servants were likely already looking for ways to get revenge or break their master free. It wasn’t often done out of love of their cruel masters, spells were placed on servants to force loyalty usually with the servant knowing they were being forced to serve someone that they hated.
“I hope your prison for the creature is well made because if it ever gets out you are almost certainly doomed,” Marina said.
Tim shrugged, “Most of my enemies are deadly that is why I have vowed to never have a family. It would put too much burden on them. There are too many creatures that want revenge against me that could break free if given millennia of time. I hope to build an order to keep those I have captured buried until they can be dealt with in a better way.”
“A noble thought. If you think this shortcut is worth the risk I will follow your lead into the kingdom of the Fae.”
