Because of a puncture by an insect magic!

"Ouch!" Amalia said while reflectively slapping at where the bug had bit her.
"Are you okay?" Evangelyne asked in respons as the others stopped walking and turned to look at her
"Yeah just the bug bite real painful though."
After this both Amalia and the others shrugged off the bug bite it wasn't until they got to the next town that they discovered the effects of the bite.
