"She's someone from your school actually, so there might be a chance you know her" the doctor told you. "A junior from your high school."
High school? Oh crap! you panicked, fearing that it might be your sister's best friend.
It was worse actually when the doctor told you her name. "Her name is Annie Olsen."
You felt the air sucked out of you. Not Annie Olsen. Of all the people in the school, why did it have to be Annie 'Chubby' Olsen. While Allison was friendly, charming and sociable. Annie was an incredibly quiet, bookish girl who you weren't entirely sure you had ever actually spoken to. She seemed to fade completely into the background at school, and apart from the Math and Chess clubs and other boring shit like that, you were pretty sure all she ever seemed to do was read. Constantly wandering around on her own with a pile of books in her hand. She usually shyed away from crowds and social events, in fear of the various taunts that were often thrown her way. People making fun of her because of how 'brainy' she was, as well as her appearance.
Annie Olsen wasn't exactly what you would describe as the most attractive girl in school, nor even the most mediocre. She wasn't butt ugly, but she was kind of plain. Possessing slightly chubby features, long wavy brown hair that never really looked like it was brushed, and a pair of thick black glasses - the clothing accessory of any self respecting nerd. She was also quite short, being a little over 5 feet and kind of plump. Her stout figure usually decked out in the thickest, baggiest coats and sweaters she could find. This in turn, added to the Harry Potter ring-binder she never seemed to be without, led to the rather unfortunate nicknames 'Annie Plumper' and 'Chubby Potter' (among others).
"She was actually in the car behind yours, with her parents." the doctor then told you, while you still taking this all in. "The impact of the crash caused a spinal cord injury, which made her paralyzed from her upper torso. It was no way to live." The doctor tells you his eyes staring at you. And since Allison's body had no working brain her parents with Ms Lowry's parents made the decision to move forward with the transplant."
"B-but what happens now?" You ask the doctor.
"As for now everything we just told you is strictly confidential Mr Connors. What happened can't be told to the outside world. Not only will Ms Olsen have no life outside, but it would all place us in danger from organizations which no good intentions. So I'm afraid you all have to pretend that Ms Olsen is Ms Allison Lowry."
"No way." You mumble. Pretending that Annie Olsen is Allison? It's insane. No way Annie could pull that off. The doctor seems to know what you're thinking. "It's why Ms Olsen needs your help Mr Connors. Apart from her parents you're one of the few people who knew her well. If you don't want to help Ms Olsen because you don't know her well, then try to help her in memory of your girlfriend. What would she say?"
Crap. You knew Allison well enough that she would want you to help Annie. You know Allison is a registered donor and always willingly to help others. It would be wrong of you not to help Annie.
"Fine, I'll do it." You tell the doctor who nods to your decision. "Good to hear. Now you need your rest, so I'll increase the IV fluid." He says. You nod as you feel more sleepy and finally go to sleep. Your sleep is dreamless as you let yourself be carried away. When you wake up....
