A boy in a black cloak with a hood covering the top half of his head has been tailing Dawn for awhile. The young Pokemon Coordinator, Dawn, is annoyed by her stalker and challenges him to a 3 on 3 Pokemon battle. If Dawn wins this match, she wants this mysterious child to stop following her. However, what does the boy get out of this battle? There's no benefit for him, so the cloaked boy requests that if he wins the match, Dawn will permanently be his toy.
The young coordinator did not fully understood what he meant by "toy", and she rather not find out. She's confident that she can win against such a young boy with no problem. A town is nearby ahead for Dawn to compete in a Pokemon contest to win a ribbon. It would be nice to have a little match before the competing in the contest. The two Pokemon trainers face towards each other with the confidence to win. Dawn's partner, Piplup, is her first Pokemon, "Piplup! Spot Light!" The small blue penguin-like Pokemon chirps, "Piplup!" and stands in overconfidence just like his trainer.
The boy flung a Pokemon into the air swiftly as a Pokemon appears out of it, "Sableye!"
Dawn's eyes grew curious as she has never seen a Sableye before. She activates her Pokedex to gain info. The robotic voice sounds from her Pokedex, "Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. Sableye normally live within caves and eat rocks. They use their sharp claws to dig through the earth."
Dawn is still confused, "But wait! Your Sableye is golden, not purple."
"My Sableye is a Shiny Pokemon; it's quite rare," informs the child. The boy attacks first, "Sableye, use Toxic!" The small golden ghost type Pokemon fires a stream of purple smog from its mouth and poisons Piplup in a heartbeat.
"Alright then, Piplup, use Bubblebeam!" The small blue penguin fires a barrage of bubble out of its beak. The attack makes direct contact at the Ghost Pokemon.
Summary of the rest of the battle: Piplup was hit by Foul Play and the rest of its health was depleted by poisoning. Sableye may have taken damage by Hydro Pump, but it constantly used Recover.
Dawn's next two Pokemon, Mamoswine and Togekiss, fell victim to the same battle pattern. Sableye kept on using Recover as Dawn's Pokemon gets hurt by Night Shade and faints by Toxic's deadly poisoning effect. The boy has won with a mere ghost Pokemon, as he has yet five more Ghost Pokemon unknown to Dawn.
"I-I lost...?" Dawn falls to her knees and feels deeply discouraged. She lost to a single Pokemon.
The boy walks towards her, "Don't forget the deal we made." He reminds Dawn of the little promise that they both made.
The girl's eye widens in fear. What will happen to her if she is a "toy" to this boy? "B-but wait! Please let me go to a Pokemon center to heal my Pokemon first! They're badly wounded."
"The moment you lost that battle," the boy explains, "Your's life belonged to me. You were overconfident, but even if you weren't, you probably still have lost."
Battling against this child was a mistake on her part. Dawn fearfully runs away, "NO! Get away from me!"
The boy sends out another Ghost Pokemon that blocks Dawn from running, "Cofagrigus!" A coffin shaped Ghost Pokemon that's silver. It's another Shiny Pokemon. Dawn's Pokedex informs her, "Cofagrigus, the Coffin Pokémon and the evolved form of Yamask. People who approach Cofagrigus are swallowed and turned into mummies. It loves to eat gold."
Cofagrigus used Psychic to suspend Dawn in midair, leaving Dawn unable to move her body, "NO! PLEASE! DON'T EAT ME!" The coffin shaped Pokemon opens up like a door as Dawn was forcefully locked inside as the door shuts closed. She is trapped inside the Pokemon's body.
"Don't worry Dawn. Cofagrigus only eats gold, not humans. With no evidence left, no one can find you. Let's go, Cofagrigus,"
Inside the coffin Pokemon, Dawn's body is wrapped in white bandages that covers head to toe but leaves her nose and eyes exposed so she can breathe and see the darkness.
